and utterly walk away."~ Alysia Harris

We were on a train to Trineapolis.
Sammy's car had some problem so he insisted we take the train. It would probably take, at max, half an hour or so to reach.
Jaden was seated next to me on the plush, blue seat of the trains last carriage. He was still lost in his own world. We had barely spoken to each other after that afternoon talk on the boardwalk.
I couldn't contain the much to silence that invaded us.Was this what I asked for. Was this how Jaden actually had to treat me?
"Is this how this is supposed to be?" I interrogated.
He averted his eyes towards me and looked confused at my question.
It was obvious he had heard it because we were practically the only people in the carriage.
I saw only his desire to go back, in his warm brown eyes. He cared more about his parents but what about me? I couldn't deal with a silent treatment. I needed answers and not silence.
I wasn't the one to stop."What do you mean?" He said furrowing his brows as if I asked him something out of the ordinary.
"What does this silence mean? Am I to take this silence as the quietness of our relationship?"
His eyes were now filled with innocence. He looked like he was gonna mock me but he just smirked. He wrapped both his arms around my shoulders and turned me towards him. I was now directly facing him. I noticed how pale his skin had become. Due to lack of rest, he had black bags under his eyes. He looked as if he was about collapse."No. This silence isn't for that my Andromeda. Don't get that thing stuck in that pretty brain of yours. You know I love you. Why would I do that to us?"
He said us as if he had asked me to be his girlfriend.
"Why aren't you talking to me then? I know it's selfish of me to think of such a thing when right now your parents need you but this thought has been nagging me at the back of my head ever since we came here."
I suddenly realised that despite him knowing me like I was an open book, I barely knew anything about him. I shuddered at the thought.
He sighed and let go of my shoulders. My longingness for him to touch my hand was irresistible but I stayed put, not wanting to make the situation weird.
"I know, I haven't told you anything. Maybe this would be the best time to tell you what you're actually looking for."
I didn't want to pressurize him to tell me. I wasn't that eager.
"You don't need to tell me, Jaden. It's not necessary if it hurts you."
He shook his head. He put his head on my shoulder- for which he had to slump his shoulders down- and started narrating."My life was not that great. I had a simple boy's life. I had a family in Brazil who unfortunately was brought here. My loving mother, my father who was a renowned software tech and my caring sister, Amelia. I went to a normal school and had a basically normal teenage life. I wasn't popular and for your information, I never had a girlfriend. I had simple ambitions of becoming a national football player and wanted to take up the family expenses but then this tragedy occurred and ruined our simple life. In this story, the one person I loved the most was my grandpa..."
He stopped mid-sentence. His breath became more rapid against my shoulder. I patted his back and put my hand on his which was now on my lap.
