For the Best

Derrick's POV

I know Nadia is probably looking for me. I don't want her to find me because obviously it's best for me to be gone.

It's so her and her mom don't get mad at each other because a good relationship shouldn't get ruined by me.

I've already ruined enough in other people's lives.

I was tired and I had no where to go so I ended up falling asleep under an overpass.
Nadia's POV

I ran back in the house after hours of searching for Derrick and he was no where to be found.

"What's wrong now?" My mom said.

"You! You made him run away and now lord knows what he might've done to himself!"

"What do you mean he ran away?"

"He overheard us arguing and now he's gone! You caused him to run away... and I swear to god, if he hurts himself because you didn't want him here..." I said.

I was livid. I was crying and yelling and I couldn't contain myself.

"I'm sorry,"

"Just wait, if he hurts himself because of you...."

I ran up to my room and slammed the door behind me making the picture of me and Derrick at Prom fall off of the wall and break.

Next morning...
Derrick's POV

I woke up sore from laying on the concrete.

For a second I had forgot I ran away. I know Nadia probably went back home to sleep, but she's probably back looking for me.

I got up and started walking around, I don't know where I'm going but I'm just walking trying to find somewhere to fit in.

I didn't have any money, so I can't eat or stay anywhere.
Nadia's POV

I can't eat, I didn't sleep, I don't feel good. I know it's only been a day, but it's tearing me to pieces thinking about where Derrick might be or what he might have done to himself.

I got out of the chair I was sitting in in the kitchen, grabbed my phone and keys and started looking for him again.

He can't be far, considering it's been less than 24 hours.

Something in the back of my head kept telling me if I found him, he wouldn't be alive but I ignored it.

He has to be alive, because if he's not I'll be lost.
