Derrick's POV
Nadia and her mom were arguing again. I don't really like seeing Nadia mad so I stayed in my room.
I didn't want to get in the middle of anything.
"Like I said I we don't have the fucking room so I don't know why I let you fucking trick me into letting him stay!" Nadia's mom screamed.
"We have the fucking room, you just won't give up the past!"
They're arguing about me?
I jumped when I heard a door slam and I got up to see if Nadia was back in her room.
"Can I come in?" I asked her on the other side of the door.
"Yeah" she said.
I walked in and closed the door behind me.
"Was it about me?" I asked.
"Was what about you?"
"What you guys were arguing about?"
"Oh... yeah. But it's okay, it's not your fault." She said.
I walked out of the room with my head down.
Nadia's POV
Great. Now Derrick has another reason to be upset with himself.
I didn't even bother to chase him, I'm just gonna let him cool down and process everything before I talk to him.
Hours passed before I started getting hungry and I decided to go get something.
"Derrick, I'm going to go get food. You want something?" I asked knocking on the door.
No answer.
"Derrick?" I called. I opened the door and walked into an empty room.
He wasn't in his room or in the bathroom.
I saw this piece of paper on his bed
And it read:
I'm sorry for making your mom mad at you. I know I shouldn't have stayed here. I'm sorry. I just figured I could get rid of the problem and stay out of everyone's life. Now I don't have to hold you back from doing whatever it is that you want to do. I hope you can forgive me for getting you into so much trouble, but since I got you into trouble I guess it's best if no one ever sees or hears from me ever again whether it be because I'm dead or just not here.
Just know I love you, and thanks for being my best friend.
- Derrick
I quickly got up and ran to try and look for my keys but I couldn't find them anywhere. I was frantically trying to find them and go find Derrick, but they weren't in my room and it's the last place I had them.
"Fuck! Where are my keys!" I said out of frustration.
I tore my room apart trying to find them, but they were nowhere to be found.
Then I remembered I always kept a spare key in the kitchen. I sprinted down the stairs and checked every drawer looking for it until I found it in the second to last drawer I check.
I changed into some ripped pants and put some Jordans on before I left because it was kind of cold outside.
In my car, backed out of the driveway and went on the search for Derrick.
I didn't want him hurting himself and I didn't want him to not be in my life because he's what keeps me sane.
I couldn't find him anywhere, I was looking all night. I didn't want to believe he committed suicide. I'm not going to let myself start believing that.
I just want to find my boyfriend...
