Derrick's POV
"Derrick do you have your homework?" My teacher asked.
"... No." I said scratching my head.
It was math class and Nadia has that class with me. I knew she probably didn't care that I was failing this class.
"Step outside."
I went outside and waited.
"Why haven't you been turning in your homework?" The teacher said. "You went from a straight A student to failing math"
"It's hard... " I said looking down.
"Don't look down...."
I looked back at her. "Are you crying?"
"I just don't want to be stupid, I'm trying to make my mom proud... it's what she would have wanted but I'm not doing that now."
"... I'll be right back okay."
Then, she came back out with Nadia, and she went back in the room.
"What's wrong?" Nadia asked me.
"I don't have my homework..."
"Why didn't you just ask me for help"
"I did, but you didn't answer my text and I thought you were mad at me so I left you alone." I explained.
"...oh, I'm so sorry Ricky" she said giving me a hug.
"It's okay."
"Look, I'll help you get your grade back up to passing. Okay... be at my house tonight, bring some clothes too cause your gonna spend the night okay?"
"Okay. After basketball practice I'll be there" I said.
After basketball practice.
