Nadia's POV
3 weeks pass...

Derrick has been out of the hospital for a week now and since then he's kind of gone into this depression.

It got so bad that we had to take him to the doctor cause he was starting to say stuff suicidal people would say.

The doctor recommened we get him a puppy.

At first we, thought it was a joke. But once we got him a Chocolate Labrador Retriever puppy, he  instantly started getting better.

We graduate in 3 months and he's failing Math and Economics. We have some major catching up to do so he does graduate.

I got all of his work at school and brought it to him even though he didn't feel like doing it.

"Alright, Derrick, first thing's first. Math" I said putting the math packet in front of him.

"I don't want to do it" he said as his puppy, Cheddar, jumped into his lap.

"Come on, just one or two pages. I'll help you" I said.

"... fine"

We got started and he was really confused.

"Wait, so... I cancel out the 3 or no?" He asked.

"Yep, then subtract 3 from 18" I said.

He started to pick up his pencil but the dropped it.

The puppy started whining a little.

"You okay?" I asked looking up at him.

"Huh?"

"You okay?" I asked sitting up.

"I-I... I just need to stand up for a second..." he said standing up.

He stood up.

"Are you okay?"

He put his hands over his face. "I'm getting really irritated and I don't know why"

"Well, come here and sit down"

He sat down.

I gave him a hug. "Everything is gonna be okay, okay?"

He nodded.
30 minutes later...

We were almost finished with his homework when we took a break.

"Derrick?" I called.

"Huh?" He said looking at me.

"Ummm, I want you to know I love you... "

"I love you too"

"Hey umm, I'm going to the store. I'll be back in an hour or so" my mom said.

"Okay. Love you" I said.

"I love you too" she said while leaving the room.

"You know prom is next week right?" I said.

"It is?" He said looking up at me.

"Mhmm, are you going?" I asked.

"I don't know..." he said looking down.

"Why not?"

He shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't think there's a point in going if someone's always there to ruin the fun."

"No one is going to ruin the fun... I promise. You have Prom next Saturday then if your leg is strong enough your next game is Sunday. "

"You sure?" He asked.

"Positive"

"... well, I'll think about it." He said.

"Okay" I smiled.

Then, we finished up his homework...
