Damaged and Broken

Athena's P.O.V

I woke in the morning alone, now i officially had nothing, my family had been killed by another alpha, Ethan, he claimed to be my mate, but i didn't really know much about mates, and to be honest i was too scared to. It was 2 months after my parents were killed and I still couldn't trust anybody, i had to look after myself, it wouldn't be for long though as i would surely be staved to death slowly or somebody would kill me for being a rogue. Today i set out to cover as much land as i could, i wanted to leave this country forever, i needed a fresh start and hopefully a pack would accept me, it would be hard for me too because of circumstances of been beaten and treated like rubbish. I started off running through the woods, which was my current home, i just found different shelters every night, then i shifted into my pure white wolf. I felt incredibly tired and i had only just shifted. I'm guessing its from the lack of nutrition that i have received. It was also incredibly painful for me to shift so i only do it when i'm in danger. I raised my nose to the air and sniffed to see if there was any danger near by. There unfortunatly was, i sensed another rogue nearby. I sighed and i felt quite scared, i never learned self defence and i had never fought anybody in my entire life. I tried to put as much distance inbetween me and the rogue. I luckly managed to stay ahead of this wolf, but i found myself in unknown territory. Great, we were doing fine before you decided to move, my wolf complained. I felt a bit guilty, i didn't know who's territory i was in but i was certin a pack lived here.

I heard a howl echo through the forests, it sounded angry and gave off a warning. I decided to ignore it and once again sniffed the air, this time the rogue was closer, much closer, and i could tell it was a male wolf. He was about a mile away from me, i tried running futher into this packs territory and i tried to hide. I heard him first, and then i saw him, he was making vicious growling noises and he had blonde fur and red eyes. This wolf was obviously well trained and a much better fighter than me but he was only a half breed. If i knew how to fight i would... no i couldn't, i would never bring myself to kill somebody, i would die before that happened. I stepped back and accidently broke a twig, the wolf heard and his head snapped in my direction. I literally peed myself on the spot when his devilish red eyes landed on mine, i looked away knowing i shouldn't look into peoples eyes when i was below them. This wolf would proberbly have more people mourn his death than me. We circled each other before he made the first move. He lunged at me and stepped back victorious. His teeth now had blood staining them, i felt a liquid drip down my fur as blood poured from a would i had there. I tried to defend myself as best as i could but i failed miserbly, everybody from my old pack would be looking down at me in shame because i was weak and stupid and ugly. Even a half breed was better than me. The blonde wolf picked me up by the neck and shook me and threw me against a tree. I crashed into it and bang. I felt my legs snap and i let out a howl of pain. The wolf approached almost mocking me and taunting me. I hoped it would be a quick end. He stood on his paws hovering over me and i closed my eyes as he raised his claws.

It was a few minutes later that i decided to open my eyes noticing that the wolf hadn't killed me. I opened them and saw 3 wolves there. Maybe the blonde wolf was in a pack after all and he had called for back ups but that wouldn't explain why he hadn't killed me. I noticed there was 2 males and a female in wolf form, there was a black wolf, a grey wolf and a brown wolf. I'm guessing Alpha, Beta and a pack member. They dissapeared for a minute and came back fully dressed. I gasped but it sounded weird because i was in wolf form. I noticed it was Ethan, his Beta and the beta's mate. The girl who was really nice to me.

"What are you doing here in my land rogue" the alpha voice boomed. My small fragile frame shook as the person who sounded so sweet 2 months ago, now sounded fearless and a leader looking out for his pack. As far as he is concerned i could be a rogue coming to kill and attack his pack. I hid my eyes from his piercing gaze. My body collapsed underneath me and i fell down. I let out a small howl. The girl, i think her name was Jessica, stepped forward and she defended me growling at her mate and the alpha. They both looked shocked. But she defended herself by saying,

"This is the girl i looked out for and she is the last remaining of the pack you took down 2 months ago" She explained. I let out a scream as my body shifted back into my human form. My body was covered in blood, bruises and scratches and i could hear Ethan calling out to me. I felt him pick me up even though i was naked. He cradled me to his chest and i lay my head on his shoulder. I felt as if i belonged next to him and i lay still just incase he threw me off him. He was running with his Beta and Jessica following behind him. It was about 1 hour later that we aproached a massive house. I was scared to enter so stuggled to escape in his arms and whispered,

"I cant go in there.... please dont make me go in there.... please.... just let me go.... please i cant go." I panicked and i think he panicked looking at me.

"Shush, shush it's ok, i have to take you through there but i will take you straight to my chambers and nobody will see you ok" He soothed.

"Will you hit me if i object to going in the house, please dont hit me if i dont want to go in, i just cant go in but i dont want to be hit, just please dont hurt me anymore i'm already broken into many pieces." I whimpered. He stroked my cheek and said,

"I would never hurt you and i would never raise my hand to a woman." He said strongly. But  still knew we had to go through the house so i closed my eyes as i felt him run through the house to his bedroom and i kept my eyes closed the entire time. He gave me some pj's to get changed into and i gratefully took them. Looking at them like they were priceless, i took them and put them on. Then i asked,

"Would you like me to sleep on the floor or even the attic, it wouldn't even bother if i had to sleep outside like i have been doing for 2 months" I said in a timid voice. He shook his head and said

"You can sleep in the bed with me and i promise you i wont try anything" I nodded and lay on the very edge of the bed. I felt his arms wrap around my waist and he whispered,

"You are going to fall out of the bed if you stay there," his words were muttered against my shoulder and it made me shiver in pleasure. I know i shouldnt be effected by him but i was. I fell asleep in his arms, for the first time in my life i felt loved and safe and protected. I closed my eyes and fell asleep in a bed for the first time in my life.
