This is it.

This is the only time to fix what has been broken. I've only got one chance.

One tiny bit mistake and we've run out of tools to fix it.

I stood in the driveway of her house and looked around the yard, taking in my surroundings. It's been a while since I've last visited. From what I've noticed, Desi is really upset with me and that she might not want to see me ever again. But I won't give up. I'm going to make her be a part of my life again.

Slowly, I approached the door and looked down at the welcome matt. Shoes and jandals were all over the place.

The thing with Desi's family is that they would hardly ever organize their shoes. I don't exactly know why. I guess they don't make a big deal out of it.

I raised my arm and put my hand into a fist, getting ready to knock on the door. Just one smiple knock and there's no turning back. Unless you're playing a game of knock knock ditch.

My mind was racing with a ton of questions: Should I knock? Should I walk away? What's going to happen? Will everything be fixed? WIll this just lead to a bigger problem?

Ah, who gives a fuck.

Just as I began knocking, the door swung open making someone bump into my chest. Desi.

"Oh! I'm-," She paused as she looks up and rolls her eyes. "Luke." She was about to slam the door shut but I stopped her by placing my hand on the door and pushing it back.

"Desi, please," I begged, "Could you give me some time to explain?"

"Why would I?" She scoffed, avoiding eye contact with me.

"Because I'm hoping that if we would talk out what happened between us over the last year, maybe we'll come up a with a solution. I've been thinking about this for a while; If we start over, we could be friends and life would continue on from there." I told her.

She pursed her lips and looked into my eyes, not saying anything for a while. It was as if she was thinking about what I just said. "Are you sure things would go back to normal? Because I swear, if this happens ever again, I am out of your life forever."

My eyes widened and I shake my head quickly, "I promise this won't ever happen again. I swear to god."

"Well," She trailing off.

"So, does that mean we could start over?" I re-assured, playing around with the lip rip I had gotten a few weeks before.

She stared straight at me in the eyes and sighed, "I'm seriously having doubts, Luke. What is things will go wrong again? What if it won't work out? What if-."

I cut her off by grabbing her face gently and placing my lips on hers. I felt her tense up a bit but she relaxes after a few seconds and our lips move in sync, until she pulls away.

"Luke," She starts, "You know if we start over we can't go straight to kissing."

"I know. You just won't shut up." I chuckled.

She took a step back and gasped quietly, "Hey! I'm a bit worried you know! Like seriously, I have a feeling that life will repeat itself."

"Stop worrying!" I sighed, pulling her into a hug - my right arm wrapped around her waist and my left arm around her neck; my chin on top of her head and her face snuggled into my chest - "I'll be sure to watch out for you, and I'll be there for you every step of the way."

"All right," She muffled out the words, "But I forgot one thing."

She pulled away, again, and smiled, holding out her hand. "Friends?"

"Seriously?" I laughed, my face breaking into a full on smile.

"Just like you said, if we start over, we got to start as friends right?" She shrugs, still smiling.

"Why not more than that?" I smirk.

She playfully punches my chest and laughs, "Lucas!"

"How many times do I have to tell you, my name is not Lucas!" I groaned.

"Desi! The cookies are ready!" I hear someone yell from inside.

"YAY! COOKIES!" Another voice yells.

I lean to the side, trying to look in Desi's house, but she blocks my view, "It's my mum and little brother."

"Oh." I nod, returning to my standing position and scratch the back of my neck. "For some reason, your brother's reaction to cookies reminds me of our reaction to them when we were eight."

"Oh yeah!" Desi grins, "Those were the days."

"Yeah..." I chuckle, shaking my head.

Desi looks up at me with her big hazel eyes and she points back, "Do you want to come inside for some cookies?" She asks.

"Of course I would! What kind of person wouldn't accept the offer of someone giving them cookies?" I shrug.

"Well, what are you waiting for?" She laughs, "Come on!"

She grabs my wrist and pulls me inside, us being out childish selves once again.

Guess what? I fixed it.

I fixed the major problem that has been broken.

Doesn't it feel great when things are fixed once again? It does right? Yeah...

It feels great to have Desi back in my life. I seriously don't know what I would do without her. No one, and I mean no one, would ever replace Desi. Of course, me being the dumbest guy ever, choosing Britney over Desi was a big mistake but she gave some good advice. I'd thank her for that in person but she's gone. I need to find a way to thank her some day.

But, I'm going to add that to my list of things to worry about later because I'm giong to enjoy the good thinks that's happening right now.

If you're ever in the biggest situation with anybody, just start over and go back to the things they were before everything went wrong.

THIS IS PROBABLY THE END
