- luke -

"Britney! I'm sorry!" I called out to her.

She stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and spun around, the sky getting daring and darker every second.

"What kind of person are you?!" She began, "Hm, Luke?"

"What are you talking-."

"You chose me over your best friend!" She cut me off. "What kind of guy, would choose a girl like me over their best friend?! Huh, Luke?!"

"I-."

"In every story I've read, it's always the best friend! But with you, it's so confusing! Back there, you were defending Desi... And now, you're chasing me?! I don't get it! In stories, the guy goes running back to the friend and not the girlfriend. I don't even know what I'm saying, Luke! You messed me up big time! You messed Desi up big time! You made a mistake. No wait, I, made a mistake. So don't say you're sorry because I am. I'm sorry for bringing myself into your life. I'm sorry for spending my whole year with you. I'm sorry for going on the plane with you. I'm sorry for accepting your request for me to be your girlfriend. But you know what? I'll just stop. I'm stopping right here because I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about. So here's the thing. I'm getting out of your life forever. Good bye."

And she left, leaving me alone, standing in the rain.

Why is she saying she's sorry? She's wrong. I should be the one who's sorry.

Sorry for forgetting about Desi; sorry for letting Britney slip into my life; sorry for bringing her on the plane with me; sorry for asking her to be my girlfriend; sorry for literally every fucking thing; every scratch; every kiss; every laugh; every smile; every tear;

I'm sorry, Desi.

I wish I could forget about the past.

I wish I could forget about this moment.

I wish time travel would actually exist.

If I had one wish, and one wish only, I'd wish for time to go back and fix this mess.

But wishes don't exist; time traveling doesn't exist.

I can't go back and fix what has been broken.

I wasn't there to pick her up when she fell to pieces. I wasn't the one who saved her.

I stood there, all the tension kept in my body, everything running through my mind. I was soaked in water staring at the ground, the necklaces dangling around my neck.

There was a slight ring in my ear, growing louder and louder every second.

"Luke!" I hear a familiar voice call.

Everything I heard clearly before was blur now, the ringing taking over my sense of hearing. The raindrops, becoming softer and softer.

I lost the feeling in my legs, my body, and my head. The last thing I felt before everything was numb, was pain rushing throughout my right side. I tried opening my eyes but I could barely see anything.

"Luke please... Don't leave now."

Black; is all I could see.

~

"LUCAS! WAKE UP!"

A gush of icy cold water crashed into my body and I bolted up in bed with an extreme headache.

I set my head in my hands and groaned, "Shit! What the fuck was that for?!"

"YAY! YOU'RE AWAKE!"

"THANK YOU JESUS!"

I lifted my head and blinked at the three body figures in front of me. Lads.

"Oh, hey guys." I spoke, shaking my head a little.

"Luke! We were so worried about you!" Calum says.

"Yeah!" Ashton joins.

"What happened?! I asked, looking between the three of them. "Where's Desi?"

"Desi doesn't want to- Ow! Stop slapping me!" Michael yells.

"Desi is... Fine. She's fine." Ashton coughs.

"Yeah you don't have to worry about her," Calum pulls a small smile.

"Why are you guys acting so weird all of a sudden?" My voice rises, "You're all hiding something,"

"No we're not." Michael says quickly, almost too quickly.

And then it hit me. Flashbacks from the party rush through my mind and it felt as if my heart flunked out of my ass.

"Desi..." I whisper.

"What?" The three of them say in unison.

I quickly got out of bed and ran to my closet, grabbing a red flannel, and then rushed out the bedroom door, carefully - but quickly - going down the stairs. As soon as I reached the bottom, I slipped on the flannel and grabbed my shoes, throwing them on my feet without giving a fuck about tying the laces.

"Where do you think you're going, Luke?!" I hear Calum yell.

"None of your business! Bye!" I slammed the door before one of them could respond and started running down the driveway.

The headache I have is excruciating but I have to fix this.

I was the reason for all her problems. I was the reason for all her tears. I was the reason for this mess. I was the reason for all of this.

But I'm not going to let her go.

Even though my dizzy head is numb, I swear my heart is never giving up.

SO IM GUESSING YOU GUYS DIDN'T EXPECT LUKE'S POINT OF VIEW AYE?

I HAVE A FEELING THAT THIS IS ANOTHER SHORT CHAPTER IM SORRY

BUT YEAH ENJOY

KEEP ON TRUCKING AND NEVER LET ANYONE PUT YOU DOWN

I LOVE YOU ALL X
