start over ; l.h. a.u. [sequel to friends]

It was a sunny day outside and I'm too sad to go out and do something fun. Drew went over to have a play date with Amber and I'm kind of worried for her because what if the same thing that happened with Luke and I, happens with them?

But it's all up to my brother to make that decision.

I sat on the lounge with the guitar under my arm, a notepad in my left hand and a pen in my right hand.

Mum walked up and sat down right beside me, drinking her lemonade.

"Are you all right sweetie? It's been a long time since I've seen you smile."

I'm not fine at all.

I put a fake smile on my face and looked down, "Yeah. I'm fine."

"You sure?"

"Yes, mum."

"Okay, if you ever need me, I'll be upstairs working on my papers. All right?"

I gave her a slight nod and she kissed my forehead, then headed upstairs.

I wish that I could wake up with amnesia.

As soon as those lyrics popped in my head I wrote them down on my book and figured out a tune.

Looks like this is going to be an emotional afternoon.

Whenever I feel pressured, I take nice hot showers to forget about the stupid little things.

Something keeps pressuring me to go running back to Luke and tell him everything but why me? I wasn't the one that caused all this shit. He should be the one that should be running back because it was all his fault.

I walked up to the bathroom and turned on the shower, then let it run a little. I took of all my clothes and stepped into the shower, letting the warm water run down my back.

For some reason, I like watching the water go down the drain and hearing it fall. I don't know why but, this time, while looking down, something triggered inside me.

"Desi?" Luke calls.

"Yeah Luke?" I ask.

"Look." He says.

I turn around and face him and notice that he's holding two separate necklaces on his finger. The pendant were in the shape of a wing. I'm guessing it's supposed to be a batman necklace separated in two.

I stepped closer and examined the necklace. "Is that all?"

"Turn the wings around." He says. I flipped each wing over and there were words on it.

The left wing had the question 'Friends?' on it and the right wing had 'Friends.' - the answer to the question - on it.

I turned off the water and stepped out of the shower, wrapping myself with a towel and heading to my room.

I put on a pair of grey sweats and a white v-neck, which was funny because I always wear this outfit when I go out to some place near. I grabbed my grey OBEY beanie and phone and headed down the stairs, knowing exactly where to go.

"Mum, I'll be back in about half an hour. I just need to drop something off."

"Okay. Be sa-." And before she could finish her sentence I shut the door and began walking.

My phone buzzed in my hand and I noticed that it was a tweet from Ashton.

I love how they always spend time with each other. They should be legal brothers.

I looked down at my chest and watched the pendant swing back and forth with every step I take. I'm going to regret this so much.

"-promise if you're with me, say the word and we'll find a way..."

The two boys came into sigh and Calum stopped singing.

"Hey De-."

"SH!" I snapped at him.

I quietly rushed up to the front door in which the four boys were sharing a house with, and right next to the welcome mat was a pair of black vans and red heels. She's here.

I place my hand on the door and looked down, hesitating before I could start my actions.

"What is she-."

"Shut up Ashton."

I brought my hands up to my neck and reached out for the latch...

I looked at him with wide eyes, "You actually remember this conversation?"

"Why wouldn't I remember?" He chuckled.

"But it was eight years ago." I say.

"I remember important conversations and events that happens long ago." He smiles. "Here. I'll put it on you."

I turn around and pushed my chestnut hair to one side, letting Luke latch the necklace around my neck.

After he was done, I latched the necklace around his neck and smiled.

"No." I shook my head.

Within seconds, I took off the necklace and hung it on the knob of the door then tuned around and started to run, but of corse, Calum and Ashton had to stop me.

"What did you just do?" Ashton asks with his eyebrows raised.

"You did not just do that." Calum speaks.

"I'm sorry but it had to be done." I looked down, trying my best to avoid eye contact with them. Hey, guess who's crying again.

"Bye guys." I pushed past them and walked straight ahead.

When will there ever be a day where I would stop crying... For once.

"LUKE!" I hear Ashton yell.

"WE'RE COMING FOR YOU!" Calum follows.

Empty. That's what it felt around my neck.

Lonely. That's how I feel inside.

Broken. That's what I am right now.

And he's not there to pick up the pieces and put them back together.

I HATED THE BEGINNING OF THIS CHAPTER BUT I HAD TO UPDATE SO YEAH HOPE YOU LIKE IT
