Chapter 5
“Casey, there is a boy down here and he says he is here for you” mom said through the intercom
I looked at myself in my full view mirror. I was wearing a pink heart dress and black heels. My hair was curled and I was wearing the perfect amount of make up.
I walked down stairs to see Nathan sitting at the bar with all of my brothers and dad. Chris was sitting on Nathan’s lap and all the other guys standing around laughing. We’re they actually having a good time? So much for that awkward date meeting family thing.
“Wel hello”
“Hey Casey” Nathan greeted me
He put Chris down and came by my side. He shook all of he guys hands and then came back to me.
“I’ll meet you in the car”
Nathan walked outside and then I told everyone good-bye. My dad gave me a kind of sad look but I gave him a huge hug and told him I would be home by twelve and maybe ever earlier. When I went to hug Chad he gave me a huge hug and then whispered in my ear.
“I approve”
As I walked out the house everyone was standing at the front by Greg waving good-bye. Even Marlene was there.
“Sorry about the family” I said laughing
“Don’t be sorry. Your family is great and their funny. I really love your little brother Chris”
“Wow, do you remember all of their names?”
“Yup. It goes Chad, Cody, Cole, Carson, then you, Chase, Chance, I can’t really tell them apart, and then last but not least Chris.”
“I think you got all of their names quicker than Megan did.”
We laughed and kept driving. We had actually been driving for a while.
“So where are we going?”
“It’s a surprise”
“Great. I don’t think I’m dressed for a surprise”
“You look great by the way. And it doesn’t matter what you’re wearing”
We kept driving for another twenty-five minutes until we got to a boat dock. I looked around and saw a large yacht like boat docked at the end.
“Are we going on a boat?”
“Maybe”
He got out of the car and came to the passenger side to open the door. He grabbed my hand and we walked side by side to the boat. He helped me onto the stairs to the boat.
“This is gorgeous” I said looking at the view from the boat
We were greeted by the captain who told us the route of the night. He then took us to the back of the boat where there was a table set up for two. The back of the boat was lined with copper lanterns that lit it up. Standing by the table was a waiter who had a smile on his face. Nathan came on my side and pulled out my chair for me and then he sat down on the other side.
“You really know how to impress a girl”
“I thought I would spoil you on the first date”
“Are you implying that there will be a second date?”
“Well that’s all up to you. I would love to go on a second date with you. By the way do you eat meat?”
“Yes! I am a carnivor.”
