Chapter 6

“Mom where are we going?”

All of the girls were in the car.  It wasn’t just Meg and I, it was Katie and Haley too. 

“I thought it would be nice if we all went shopping.  You know, a girls day out.”

There were no objections.  Of course the first stop was Shines, my moms clothing line.  We parked the car not to far away and started our journey.  We walked through the mens department and then made our way to the womens and juniors.  That’s when I saw it.  A large carb board cut-out of Caren and I.  Everyone gathered around it and I couldn’t take my eyes off of it.  It was so cool to see myself this popular. 

“Casey, you look so cute”  Haley came by me and pinched my checks.

A few girls came walking past and they kept looking between me and the cut-out. 

“Case why don’t we get a picture of you by, well, you” my mom joked

The rest of the day was great.  We walked around to a few shops then had to drive to a few more because of how pregnant Katie was.  We bought more clothes for the baby and everyone else got quite a few cute outfits.  When we got home all the boys were lying down in the living room sleeping while the T.V. was on.

Monday came around and I was more then ready for school.  When we got to school I almost wanted to bolt out of the car and sprint to homeroom but I kept myself composed and walked to homeroom.  I walked in and sat in my usual seat next to Megan.  While I was talking to Megan someone came behind me a kissed me on the cheek.  I turned around to find Nathan sitting in the seat next to me with a smile on his face.  Ms. Kate must have seen because in no time she was sending Nathan to go get her the daily announcments from the office.  She took Nathan’s spot next to me.

“What was that?” she said playfully slapping my arm

“What was what?” I tried acting like I didn’t know what she was talking about

“The kiss on the cheek.  You need to tell me everthing.” 

Just then Nathan came walking back in with the announcements and Ms. Kate retreated back to the front of the class.   But she kept her eye on me the whole time.

“Casey, Carson, Chase, and Chance Thompson.  Please report to the office immedietly.”  The P.A. blared all of our names and I knew it couldn’t have been the boys because, well they were called to the office as well.

Walking to the office I met up with Carson who was walking out of his homeroom. 

“What is this about?”

“I don’t know”

As we walked into the office we saw Marlene sitting in one of the waiting chairs.

“Finally you kids are here.  Do you have all of you stuff?”

We nodded yes

“Alright well hurry up get in the car.”

We left the office and followed after Marlene to the car.

“Marlene where are we going?” asked Chase

“Well, Katie is having the baby.”

At ten thirty on a Monday morning, Annabelle Marie Thompson, was born.  Weighing seven poounds one ounce and fourteen inches long.  Two weeks early but no one was complaining.  She was a beautiful baby, and she was my god daughter.  I must have at least a hundred pictures of her on my phone.
