Chapter 13

“Casey get up!”  Chris was jumping on my bed with Meg sitting at the edge laughing.

“Come here little boy” I grabbed him and he fell onto the bed next to me.  He tried to tickle me but I got him pinned and then Meg and I started to tickle him.  When he finished his laughing attack he calmly sat down next to me.

“I heard mommy talking to daddy about how tonight was going to be a special night for you” Chris looked up at me with huge sparkling eyes.

“Tonights prom, its just a really big dance” He looked at me like he was still confused but dropped the subject.

“Get up, I wanna go eat” Meg gave me a puppy dog face and I rolled my eyes and rolled out of bed.  I took a shower and then put on a strapless black romper.  We walked downstairs and Marlene gave us some fresh fruit and yogurt with granola.  We took a seat at the dining room table with my parents.

“You excited baby girl?”

“Yes I am”

“Paul and his crew will be here in a few hours to do your hair and make up.  I made a nail appointment in half an hour and then waxing” My mom informed us.  I looked at Meg who had the same shocked look on her face.

“Waxing?”

“Your upper lips girls.  Don’t worry it will be five seconds then done” She got a phone call and excused herself from the table.

When we finished breakfast my mom loaded us up into the car and we drove to the nail place and got our nails done.  I got a simple french tip while Meg went with a sparkly polish.  The waxing wasn’t as bad as I had anticipated, thankfully.

Getting back home Paul was there waiting with his crew.  He had us sit down and some up with what we wanted while he got everything set up.  All I knew was that I wanted something simple like my dress.

Paul straightened my hair and then curled it loosely.  He took a small bump it and put it towards the back of my hair.  He sprayed and bobby pinned my hair at least a hundred times before he told me he was finally finished.  For make up he went with extremely simple.  I had on fake eye lashes that weighed my eyes down and made me conscience of my blinking.  I had on eye liner, lip gloss, mascara, and foundation.  There might have been more but he made me keep my eyes closed.

“Honey, you look amazing” my mom said gasping when she saw the final product.  I turned around and looked in the mirror.  I had to admit I did look pretty good. 

I looked over at the clock at noticed it was already five forty-five.  Wow time flew by fast.  Meg and I ran upstairs being careful not to mess up our make up and hair.  We carefull slipped into our dresses and helped each other ours up.  I put on my heels and took one last look in the mirror.  A smile spread across my face because at that very moment I felt beautiful.

I heard the doorbell ring and I looked over at Meg who had an even bigger smile on her face.

“They’re here” we cooed.

“Alright girls I want a few picture of you two before you go down stairs with the boys” Mom took at least forty pictures of Meg and I together and then separate.  Meg grabbed my hand and the winked at me.

“We look fricken amazing.  They are some lucky boys” I laughed at her comment and then we walked down stairs.  Meg went down first because she really missed Carson after only a day.  I went down next and found Nates eyes.  He looked absolutely handsome.  He was wearing his black suit and black tie holding a red rose corsage.  He grabbed my hand when I reached the bottom of the stairs and put his other hand on the small of my back.
