Mackenzie's POV
I wake up the next morning and get ready. I remember all the events that occurred last night between Maddie and I.
I have a feeling mom knows, and mom is going to get mad. Maddie probably said something that I was yelling at her, this and that making me see like a bad person.
I sighed at the thought. I get my stuff and bring it downstairs. I get to the kitchen and make breakfast for everyone.
I finished just in time because they came downstairs just as I finished.
"Hello Mackenzie," mom greeted.
"Hello mother," I say.
I place the food in front of them as usual. And I clean up fast. Just as I go to leave I'm called back.
"Mackenzie!"
I turn around and see Maddie looking at me.
"Yes Madison?" I ask.
"What are you doing after school?" Maddie asked.
"She's working Maddie. You don't want to go to that diner, you and your friends can go get your nails done," mom said.
Maddie looked over at me and I don't say anything. I just walk out of the house. I head over the diner and do business as usual.
"How was it when you went home?" Gianna asked.
"Weird," I say.
"Why's that?" Gianna, Cameron and Abby questioned.
"Because Madison came downstairs, and she tried to talk to me. Tried to be like a real sister. For those ten, fifteen minutes she tried to be a real sister, all I could think, in the back of my mind was; this isn't real. This is either a dream, or it's real, and she's just tired and in the morning it's back to the usual," I explained.
"I remember when Miss Madison came down her with you and your daddy. She used to be a sweet little girl. Then your daddy died and, now she's a spoiled brat," Abby said mindlessly.
"Ya, that's when things were great."
I served breakfast to Mr. Jeller and got him more coffee.
"Your daddy was a good man," Mr. Jeller said to me. "He helped anyone that needed it, it's a shame he was taken so soon."
Mr. Jeller was a regular at the diner for years. A lot of people were. But everyday, rain or shine, snow or hail, no matter the weather, he was always there.
"I agree Mr. Jeller," I say.
He smiled at me and looks down at his watch, "darling, you better get going if you want to get to school on time," he informs.
"Oh damn, thank you Mr. Jeller, I'll see you all later," I say rushing out the door.

"I'm so happy we're graduating early this year, we don't have to deal with this bullshit anymore," Carson said, as we walked out of our math class.
I couldn't agree more with him. I mean, high school is everything to people but, it's not worth it. If this is the best four years of my life I might as well kill myself now.
"You know Cars, I can't wait till the end of this year. Do you know who else from our grade is graduating with us?" I ask as we make our way down the hallway.
