Chapter 28; Defended

Mackenzie's POV

I walk into school with John and my friends. We walked together and walked through the halls with everyone.

Today is different. A lot different. I didn't know why until that's when it made sense.

"Johnny?"

We turn and see Nadia. We all scoffed. And stood there. Waiting to hear what she has to say.

"You seriously actually left me for that?!" Nadia said in disbelief. She then started laughing hysterically. "That's hilarious to see that you downgraded from me to that."

I can't help but to feel embarrassed. She's right though. Why does John want to be with me when he had her?

"She the hell up Nadia," Kendall said.

"What'd you say Kendall?" Nadia asked.

I turn and see my sisters full squad standing with us. I'm confused but I just go with it.

"You heard what she said," Nia defended.

"Leave my sister alone," Maddie said. She wraps her arm around me protectively and smiled at me.

"Why are you defending her?! Have you gotten hit in the head or something? Like seriously this is the same diner girl we've been mocking since the fifth grade! And Madison what the hell? You hate your sister," Nadia exclaimed.

"Correction you've been mocking," Lauren stated.

"Another correction, I hated my sister. That was before I knew her," Maddie said smiling at me.

I smiled back at her. All Nadia could do was scoff.

"This is a joke. This has to be a joke. Please tell me, this is a joke," Nadia said.

"It's not Nadia so back the hell off. I don't want you anymore. I never wanted you," John said.

"See Johnny, baby, that's where your wrong. Remember that one night?" Nadia questioned.

I look at John confused.

"That was different Nadia, I was drunk and so were you. You have no room to talk either, we all know you've done some pretty slutty shit," John defends.

"And you enjoyed it. I hope you aren't expecting that from miss 'I haven't had my first kiss yet' over here. I don't think she's had her first time yet," Nadia said.

I don't say anything just shrink down more and more. I want to hide and run away from this. I can't be anymore embarrassed.

"That doesn't matter at least she's more of a person than you are," John said.

"We'd take Mackenzie over you any day," Hayden said.

"Any day?" Nadia questioned.

"Any. Day," Brynn said.

"You're all talking crazy. You know in two days you're going to be back mocking her," Nadia rolled her eyes.

"That's where you're wrong, because we're not going to do that," Brooke stated.

"Why is that?" Nadia asked.

"That's because she's not what you say she is. She's not a loser, you are," Paige said.

"You tear people down just to make yourself feel better. Not only that but, you also don't have any friends," Chloe grinned.

"Says who?" Nadia questioned.

"Says us. Now leave," Maddie said.

Nadia doesn't say anything. She's stunned.

"Notice how she doesn't say anything because she knows it's true," I muttered. They laughed.

"Watch it Ziegler," Nadia said gripping my shirt.

"Watch it Nadia," Ruby said.

"Oh ya? What are you going to do, sis?" Nadia asked.

Ruby doesn't say anything just gives her a look. Then Nadia face drops.

"You wouldn't!" She gasped.

"Bet," Ruby smirked.

Nadia shook her head and ran off. We laughed and looked at Ruby.

"What just happened?" Carson asked.

"Twin telepathy bitches. I just threatened her, saying I'd tell everyone her big secret," Ruby grinned.

"And?! What is it?!" We ask.

"She wet the bed until she was ten," Ruby stated, her grin getting wider.

"No fucking way?!" Kendall laughed.

"Yup, trust me, if you ever want blackmail for my sister, I have basically everything," Ruby said.

Everyone walks away except for Maddie and her crew. They pulled me back as I go to leave.

"Speaking of sisters, could you finally be mine again?" Maddie asked.

I look at her and smiled, "I guess I can."

She smiled back and hugged me. "Thank you thank you thank you thank you!" She exclaimed.

We break the hug and she looks at me, moving some hair behind my ear, "I promise I'll be a better sister. I promise I'll be better and we'll be close again. Like we were when you were little," Maddie said.

I nodded and hugged her again. This is one of the first hugs with my sister in awhile.

"Thank you Maddie," I mumbled.

Maybe things are working out.

What's up guys so I'm getting my hair done right now and figured I'd update. This is the last chapter then epilogue will be uploaded later today.

Anyways nothing to exciting to talk about, I carved pumpkins yesterday and watched some movies. Got my mind off things that is really stressful. I really needed it anyways so it was nice.

So basically I feel that I should tell you, my dad is sick. When we first found out, was three weeks ago and I didn't take it well. He's being tested to be sure it's not what we think it is and so far it looks like it's not so hopefully it stays that way.

We find out next week the results so hopefully it stays good. There's been so much going on lately I might put it in my rants idk. We shall see.
