Johnny's POV

I walked into school Monday. Ready and prepared for everyone to praise us for the win Friday night.

"Nice win John!" Some girls complimented.

I smiled at them and walked with my friends to class. I walk into history and take my seat. I'm still talking to Hayden and Jacob when I turn my head and see her.

I haven't talked to her yet. I want to. I really really want to. But, she ran out Friday. She didn't come to the game. I know because I looked in the crowd, searching for her.

I start to go into my own little world. It feels like it's just her and I. Nobody else in the room. In the school. On the planet. Just the two of us.

"...ohnny... JOHNNY!"

I'm snapped back into reality by Jacob screaming into my ear. I flinched and punched him in the chest.

"What the hell dude?" I question rubbing my ear. I'm surprised how they aren't bleeding.

"You zoned out. We were talking to you," Jacob said.

I sighed and looked at them.

"We were wondering if you wanted to go get food after school. At the diner maybe?" Hayden asked.

I shake my head, "no no no! I can't go."

"Why not John?" Jacob asked. "You can finally talk to her."

"Jacob, you said it yourself, the way she ran out on Thursday, then again on Friday and her not showing up to the game. I might as well move on. It's my best bet," I say.

"Don't listen to him he's an idiot go talk to her idiot!" Brynn said.

I shot her a look. "I can't talk to her," I mumbled.

"Why not? Give us one good reason," Hayden questioned.

"You saw how she ran away! She doesn't like me! She won't like me and she won't accept me," I explained.

"Yes she will if you talk to her," Lauren groaned.

"I'll think about it okay?" I say.

They nodded and we turned around. Class just started. I can't help but to think about her. What I want to say to her.

I just feel like, whatever I say won't be good enough for her.

-

The sound of coaches whistle echoes through the air. I grunted after being tackled to the ground. I get up and move my arm back and forth making sure I can still move it.

"John, that's the fifth time you've been tackled. Where's your head today?" Coach asked.

"Sorry coach just bad day. I'll be better tomorrow," I apologized.

"You better, reps are coming to watch you Friday. I'd hate to see you screw up because you're head isn't in the game," coach said. "Alright, practice is over! Hit the showers!"

We all walked back to the locker room. I stayed behind wanting to be by myself.

She's so perfect. No matter what I say won't be for someone as perfect as her I thought.

I sighed and walked into the locker room. I take off all the equipment and hop into a shower real fast. I hate having my car smell. Especially after practice.

Once I'm out I changed and get my stuff together.

"John you ready?" Hayden questioned.

"Ya let's go," I say. I grab my keys and walk out to the car with them.
