Mackenzie's POV
It's been a week since the game. John and I have been hanging out a lot after school and everything. I haven't gone to the diner, everyone else got jobs and it's been good.
I need to get some more of my stuff from my house so I can officially move in.
"When are you going back to your house?" Gianna asked.
"Today, after school probably. Ruby, John and Carson are going to help me. I wasn't sure if you or anyone wanted to come with," I answer.
"Maybe, I'll let you know Kenzie. But, I think it's good that you're out of there," Gianna smiled. "I think that it was bad for you there. But, I still feel that you and Madison should try to be sisters."
I sighed and nodded eating my waffles that Gianna made. First time in forever where I've had something other than a pop tart or protein bar for breakfast.
"Thank you for everything Gianna. It means a lot to me," I say.
She hugs me from the back and kisses my cheek. "Anything to help out the greatest kid ever," Gianna said.
I look back and smiled at her. I look at the time and realize I have to leave for school. I get up and hug Gianna. I get my stuff and rush out of the house.
I get in the car and get Ruby and Carson and drive to school. I parked in the the parking lot, next to John. We walked in together.
"So babe, we're going back to your house?" John asked.
"Ya, we just need to bring back a few things then we can do whatever," I say.
"Okay cool," John smiled kissing me.

We drove to my old house. I look up and see the large home. The home I had lived in for years. It was more of a prison rather than a home.
I can't help but to smile though, I'm free from it. I don't have to come back. I'm completely free from this hell.
We walked in and I see mom, Madison and her crew. I'm taken back for a moment. I'm really surprised.
"What's going on?" I ask.
"We want to talk to you. Well mom needs to clear some things up," Maddie said.
I hesitate and sit down next to John and Carson. Everyone's staring at mom waiting for her to say something.
"Mackenzie, your sister and her friends made me realize that I'm a bitch towards you. And, when you yelled at me the other day I kind of started to realize that I've made mistakes. Especially at being your mother. I realized that, ever since your father passed, I guess I blamed you for him dying. And I had this sort of hatred for you and I'm sorry Mackenzie," mom explained.
I don't say anything. I play with my fingers and look up at her.
"I haven't been the best mother to you and, well I've been hiding something's from you. Here," mom said handing me two forms.
I take them and look at one. The first one I look at is from is NYU. I open it up and it's my actual letter. The acceptance letter. I can't help but to smile.
"We told you NYU had to accept you," Maddie smiled.
I smiled wider and look at the second form. I open it up and see it's a will. My fathers will. I look up confused and the gesture me to look at it.
