The next day, it was May 23rd and that was a special day because it was the birthday of Logan, his 21st birthday and at that age, he was now an adult officially and he was at home watching TV and it was noon and he pulled out his cell phone and call Abby and it was 2:00 PM.
"Hello, Logan." Abby said over the phone.
"Hi, mom." Logan stated.
"How's it going today?"
"It's going good. Mom, can you guess what day it is?"
"It's just your normal monday, nothing special about it and i'll be at the studio." Abby answered.
Logan was stunned and crestfallen at the same time, he could not believe that his own mother forgot his 21st birthday. He had called the girls and their moms that morning and asked them did they know what today was and he got the same answer like Abby had just said, even Kendall said it too and he gave a heavy sigh.
"I know by that sigh that you're somewhat crestfallen, but i have a great idea! Why don't you head to the Lincolnwood Town Center for an hour?" Abby suggested.
"Ok, i will." Logan answered, feeling somewhat better because the Lincolnwood Town Center was one of his favorite places to go. He turned off the TV, locked up the house and got into his Lincoln Navigator.
Meanwhile, at Abby's house, Abby had just hung up the phone and with her were the moms.
"Did he suspect a single thing?" Holly asked.
"Nope, not at all." Abby answered.
"All right, let's head to his house." Melissa stated.
"Good idea." Kelly agreed.
"He's gonna be surprised." Christi stated as they all left Abby's house and went to Logan's house, when they got there, they began to make calls.
Exactly an hour later, after hanging out at the Lincolnwood Town Center, Logan was seen driving down Pratt Avenue. then he went over the I-94 Expressway and made a left on to Longmeadow avenue, then a minute later he pulled into the driveway and saw some cars parked in the driveway and on both sides of the street.
"That's odd, there are a lot of cars at my house and i don't know why." Logan said to himself, as he got out of his Lincoln Navigator and headed to the front door and it was locked, so he decided to head to the backyard and he had a key for the door in the backyard of his house and then his eyes went wider than saucers.
"SURPRISE!" Everybody yelled and it almost caused logan to jump out of his skin because he wasn't expecting that. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOGAN!"
In the backyard, there was a table and on it was a red and black birthday cake with the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks logos, ice cream, napkins, presents, streamers that were colored red and black and next to the table was a cooler that had sodas in it. On the table was some food, which were fruits, cookies, chicken, salads, sandwiches and other drinks like fruit punch and over the table was a banner that said "Happy 21st, Logan!".
What caught his attention was that in the center of the area were a lot of people, people that Logan had known for years, including Abby, Maryen, Kendall, Gianna, Maddie, Mackenzie, Nia, Chloe, Brooke, Paige, their moms and many others and they smiled at him.
In the crowd with them was the family of Maddie and Mackenzie (Ryan, Tyler and Greg), the family of Gianna (Kim and Paul), the family of Nia (Heather, Evan, Evan Jr aka EJ and William, the family of Chloe (Marc, Jodi and Clara), the family of Brooke and Paige (Randy and Josh), also there was a young lady around 22 with brown hair and amber eyes named Jennine Wedge and next to her was another brown haired lady with green eyes named Rachael Thoma, and with them was a guy with short hair and brown eyes named James Washington, they were all ALDC faculty members some ALDC dancers. They had all come to celebrate his twenty-first birthday. The only one wasn't there were Cathy and Vivi.
"Happy birthday, baby." Abby stated as she walked over to her son and hugged him and kissed him on his cheek.
"What do you think?" Maryen asked her grandson as she hugged him too.
"We did it for you because we all love you, big bro." Kendall added.
"I thought you forgot my birthday." Logan stated.
"We'd never forget your birthday, the only reason why i pretended to forget was to throw you this surprise party." Abby told him.
"Yeah." Gianna stated as she kissed him on his cheek.
"What do you think we should do first?" Josh asked.
"Well, let's give him his presents and then we can have cake." Jodi suggested.
"Not a bad idea at all." Jennine said, then they walked Logan to a chair so he could get presents from everybody.
"Logan, you can open ours first." Holly stated as she, Nia, Heather, Evan, Evan Jr and William all handed him their gift.
"All righty." Logan said, then he started opening the gift and in it were some novels like "Mockingjay", "The Imperfectionists", "Before I Fall", "The Passage", and "The Warmth of Other Suns". "These books are so good, thanks. I'll read these on our way to competitions"
"You're welcome." Nia stated.
"We're next!" Christi informed as she, Chloe, Clara, Jodi and Marc handed him the gift that they got for him. Logan opened it and inside was a Clay Matthews Green Bay Packers jersey, that was colored green
"I'll wear this a lot, thanks."
"You're welcome." Marc stated.
"Because we've been told that you like the green bay packers, even though this is bears nation." Jodi added, then the next presents he got were some Air Jordan I's from Brooke, Paige, Josh, Kelly and Randy. A laptop for Windows 8.1 from Melissa, Mackenzie, Maddie, Ryan and Tyler, a collection of aviator sunglasses from Jennine, some PS3 games from Rachael, a collection of garfield comics from Kendall and a tracksuit that was black and the jacket was short sleeved and a zip up from the dancers of the ALDC. Last but not least, Abby and Maryen gave him their gift.
"We've been saving this for you since you were little." Abby stated.
"Let's see what's in it." Logan stated to himself as he slowly began to unwrap the gift, then it was a small box and he opened it and in it was a platinum necklace with a green birthstone on it. He knew that the necklace belonged to his deceased grandfather, George.
"What do you think?" Maryen asked her grandson. "Before your grandpa passed on, he told me and your mother to give you this necklace that he had when you turn 21."
"We bought the emeral birthstone when you were nine since it's the birthstone of this month." Abby added.
"I...I don't know what to say. He saved this for me..." Logan stuttered as tears began to fall from his eyes like raindrops as so many memories of his late grandfather were in his head and everyone was teary eyed at the moment. "T-thanks, grandma. T-thanks, mom."
"You are welcome." Abby stated as she and Maryen hugged him and everyone was wiping their tears.
"Big bro, it's your birthday. Don't cry." Kendall told him as she wiped her own tears.
Logan stopped crying and calmed down, then they all walked to the cake where Ryan and Tyler lit up the candles, they sang happy birthday to him. Then it was time for him to make his wish, and after he thought about it, he bent down and blew out the candles and with that, the party was offically on and everyone had a great time that day.
