The year was 1990 and it was a cool spring night in Lincolnwood, Illinois and the day was May 25th and in a house, there was a 24 year old woman with brown hair and green eyes and she was coming from downstairs and was in the living room cleaning up and then a sound, which sounds a lot like crying was heard.

"What's that sound?" Maryen asked her daughter.

"I have no earthly idea. Let's go check it out." Abby suggested.

"Sure." Maryen agreed.

Abby and Maryen both left the kitchen and made their way to the front door and the sound got louder, they opened the door slowly to see what it was, then Abby looked down and saw a basket on the doorstep and inside was a baby boy that was crying and also in the basket was a note. The baby had fair skin, tufts of hair and brown eyes.

"Awww, it's a cute baby boy!" Abby exclaimed, then she picked up the basket that had the baby boy and when he looked up at Abby, he stopped his crying.

"You're right Abby, he is cute. Why don't you bring him in?" Maryen suggested and they brought the baby in the house and put the basket on the table, then they saw a note in the basket. "There's a note."

"Maybe we'll know who abandoned this baby and why." Abby said, then she and her mother began to read the note....

To whoever it might concern:

I am the mother of this baby boy and he was born yesterday morning and because i'm only 18, i cannot care for him myself because i'm going through a lot of things and he doesn't have a name, so whoever adopts him, you can name him and another request: please give him a good life, take care of him, raise and love him as if he was your own child.

Sincerely,
               The Mom of this child.

Abby and her mother felt their hearts break after they had read the note, then they looked at the baby and the 24 year old dance teacher was smitten with the one day old and because she had worked with kids, she could hopefully be a great mother one day.

"We're here for you." Abby whispered to the one day old boy, who smiled at her and it warmed her heart.

"We sure are." Maryen added. "Abigale, let's take him to the hospital to see if he's okay."

"Sounds like a plan, mom." Abby said as she and Maryen both locked up the house and put the baby in the basket in the backseat of a black Cadillac Brougham, which is Abby's car and they drove to a hospital, which is named the St Francis Hospital in Rogers Park near Evanston. They got out of the car and took the boy inside with them and saw the receptionist sitting down and was smiling.

"Hello, may i help you?" She asked them.

"My daughter and i found this abandoned baby boy on our doorstep." Maryen responded, then another woman, who is the family doctor of Abby and Maryen came up to them and her name was Veronica Perez as the receptionist told her what was going on, then she took the three to one of the patient rooms, Abby carefully sat him on the table as the doctor looked over at him, which took four minutes and the dance teacher let the baby boy wrap his little hand around her finger as Maryen smiled at the moment.

"How is he?" Abby wondered.

"He is going to be okay." Dr. Perez Responded with a smile.

"That's good to know." Maryen said, smiling that the baby had no issues.

"I've got a question. Since he was left on my doorstep, do you think it's possible for me to adopt him?" Abby wondered, because she had grown fond of the baby and was hoping to be his mother as the baby smiled at her. "Because i feel it's my responsibility to take him in."

"Yes, it's possible and i'll go get the paperwork so the adoption can be official and then you can take him home. And before you do, make sure you think of a name for him." Dr. Perez informed as she left the examination room.

Abby was smiling because she was about to gain a son and Maryen was about to gain a grandson.

"Mom, what can we name him?" Abby asked.

"How about Logan?" Maryen suggested.

"I like that name and Alexander could be his middle name." Abby agreed. "Honestly, the name Logan Alexander Miller has a nice ring to it."

The doctor returned and she had the paperwork in order for the adoption to be made official.

"Have you come up with a name for your soon to be adopted son?" Dr. Perez asked.

"Yes, the name my mom and i came up with is Logan Alexander Miller." Abby answered, then Dr. Perez handed it to Abby, who gave Logan to Maryen, then she signed on the lines that Dr. Perez instructed her to sign on, the doctor then filled the rest of the form and with that Abby was officially the mother of Logan, then the dance teacher kissed him on the top of his head. "Welcome to the family, Logan. I'm your mommy."

"And i'm your grandma." Maryen added.

"I'm gonna take care of you and love you until the end of time, your grandparents will too." Abby added as she, her newly adopted baby son and Maryen all left the hospital and headed to the store, there, they got supplies for Logan and headed home when they were done.
