Unexpected (Dance Moms Fic)

Chapter 24: Nationals

The day was June 18th and that was the day of Nationals and the sun was in the sky with no cloud in sight. The time was 8:00 am and people were just enjoying the beach and in Logan's hotel room, Logan was seen asleep in the bed, then the alarm on his cell phone went off and he rolled over, got his phone and turned off the alarm on the phone.

Logan that sat up and stretched, he then got up from his bed and made it up because immediately after Nationals, He, Abby, Gianna, the girls and their moms were all going to catch a flight back home to Chicago so the night prior, he packed his suitcases. Logan went to the closet and got some clothes to wear, then he walked into the bathroom and the first thing he did was take a shower, brushed his teeth when he was done and put some hair gel on his long hair and combed his hair to make it curly. He put it in a ponytail and cleaned his hotel room.

"Now i've got to get my clothes on and i'll be ready for Nationals." Logan stated and he put his clothes on, which was a white button down short sleeved shirt, white jeans and boat shoes. He got his cell phone, card key and mp3 player before leaving his hotel room, approached the door of his mother's hotel room

The bus pulled up to the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, which was where Nationals Hall of Fame was going to be held at, then the bus came to a stop at the entrance, then Abby, Logan and Gianna got off first and the girls and moms got off next, they got their bags and walked in the building and the minute they entered, they ran into Cathy and her Candy Apples team.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't Abby and her band of idiots." Cathy said.

"Cathy, for your information, we are not idiots and we're looking at idiots right now, and what that means is that you're the idiots." Logan responded.

"What he said." Gianna agreed.

"Oh, please. You've all met Vivi, Justice, Taylor and their mothers, but here are my other talented dancers, i'd like for all of you to meet Sarah Parish, Kerisa McCullough, Erika Schrade and their moms, Kim Parish, Kelli McCullough and Barb Schrade." Cathy introduced.

"Well, you couldn't beat us with three and i bet you can't beat us with three more." Abby told her, crossing her arms.

"Our dancers are more advanced." Kelly added.

"You beat us last time, but that was a one time fluke and you are about to witness the Candy Apples beat you today." Cathy responded.

"We cannot tell a lie, you're gonna get beat by us!" Brookie commented.

"You think you're gonna beat us a second straight time? you need to think again." Kelli retorted.

"We'll see about that." Logan said as the Candy Apples all left and headed to their dressing room. "Now let's go send Cathy and her crew home crying."

"Let's." Maddie agreed, then after Logan and Abby got them checked in they headed down one of the hallways and approached a dressing room that said ALDC, they walked in and immediately, Maddie, Chloe, Kendall and Brooke went to the make up table and got their hair and makeup done, then they got their costumes and changed into them in the changing room.

Chloe left the changing room first and she was wearing a Matte jersey biketard with attached spandex mesh top with adjustable straps.

Kendall was decked out in a crop top of spandex and lined sequin spandex with stretch lace overlay and attached sash with tulle on spandex trunks with stretch lace overlay on band.

Maddie was dressed up in a matte jersey with overlay and attached skirt of sequin stretch lace and adjustable straps.

Brookie was the last one to leave the changing room and was wearing a matte jersey leotard with sequin stretch lace inserts and attached skirt with hook neck closure.

"Amazing costumes." Holly commented, then after more comments, the stagehand opened the door and told them the solos were coming up next as Maddie, Kendall, Chloe and Brookie left the dressing room to head to the stage as Abby, Logan, Gianna, Paige, Mackenzie, Nia and the moms all took their seats, which were in the front row and sitting behind them were Cathy, The Candy Apples and their moms.

"Next up in our elite mini soloist division, we have Brookie from the Abby Lee Dance Company with Everlasting!" The youngest dancer of the Abby Lee Dance Company came from the wings of the stage and stood in place, then the music began playing and with that Brookie began dancing and was doing good with her solo and she didn't mess up at all, then she left the stage at the end.

"Coming up we have Chloe from the Abby Lee Dance Company with One Dance!" Chloe heard her routine be called and she walked onto the stage, Chloe started to dance to the music and was on beat from the start and made sure she kept it that way, then when the music ended, she headed off stage.

"Next we have Kendall from the Abby Lee Dance Company with Ignite!" Kendall headed to the stage and stood in the middle of it, then like a dancer possesed, Kendall was dancing like there was no tomorrow because she, like Maddie and Chloe, wanted to be the soloist national champion and at the end, Kendall posed and walked off stage.

"Up next we have Maddie from the Abby Lee Dance Company with Simplicity!" Maddie heard applause and came out from the wings of the stage and the applause stopped as she took her spot on the stage, with that, the music of her solo played and she was dancing and was doing great and at the end, she posed and was off stage, then everybody went backstage to get ready for the group dance, then the girls got their costumes and went to change into them.

Maddie, Mackenzie, Nia, Brooke, Paige, Chloe, Kendall and Brookie were all in a halter-style bodice that was crafted from metallic stretch lace and an attached high-low georgette skirt that was accented by a flower attached at the waist and attached were nylon/spandex trunks.

"If there were awards for costumes, you'd win first place, no doubt about it." Christi stated.

"Yep." Kelly added, then the girls all headed to the wings of the stage as Abby, Logan, Gianna and the moms all headed back to their seats and sitting behind them like before were Cathy and the moms of the Candy Apples.

"Coming up in our elite small groups we have the Candy Apples Dance Center With Pair of Wings!" Coming from the wings were Vivi, Justice, Taylor, Erika, Sarah and Kerisa were on the stage and Justice was wearing a white crewneck shirt and white pants as Vivi, Taylor, Erika, Sarah and Kerisa were all wearing lyrical biketard with metallic stretch lace that was on the bodice and accented sequin waist inset, shirred mesh that created a back skirt and straps that added detail to the open back, then they stood in their places. They began dancing when the music started and at first they had some problems, but got over them and danced well and they left the stage at the end of the music.

"Boring." Logan said.

"I agree." Gianna agreed with her boyfriend.

"You got that right." Abby told them.

"Next we have the Abby Lee Dance Company with Thinking Out Loud!" Maddie, Mackenzie, Nia, Brooke, Paige, Chloe, Kendall and Brookie all came out with determination on their faces, they were all still until the music started and they began dancing, they fed off of each other's energy, didn't mess up and were amazing with their routine and at the end, the music came to an end which meant that the girls posed and got cheers, then they left the stage.
