You were married with James for months and you couldn't be much happier. Even if he was really busy with his work, he always took some time to be with you. you loved when he stayed with you for the breakfast cuddling with you while you ate in your bed. Some days he used to surprised you by preparing you a meal himself or invited you to a pick-nick. He also knew how much you loved parties and balls thus he organized a lot of them in your honor. He always did his best for you and cherished you.

However something upset you, the presence of the Countess. She had her own room in the Cortez Hotel and she used to flirt with your husband. You tried one day to discuss about her with James but he ended the conversation quickly saying that she was a great friend of your family and that she wasn't flirting with him that was just your imagination. You rolled your eyes. Whenever you would complain about her he would defend her. that made you jealous, he was supposed to defend you against her and not hers. You avoided her because you didn't want to argue against her.

It was a cold winter night and James had promised you that he would stop working sooner than usual to diner with you. you were waiting for him in your dinner room. You waited 10 minutes 30 minutes 45 minutes 1 hour and he wasn't there. Miss Evers told you that you should probably eat, James was certainly working later than he predicted and he would join you in your bedroom. You decided to wait a little bit more but you end up eating alone. You went to your room a little bit upset and disappointed. You hoped that James was already in your shared room but he wasn't. after two hours you were still waiting for him. some night he would work at night in his office till the morning but he used to prevent you. you began to worry therefore you decided to go to his office to check that everything was alright.

You quickly made your way through the corridors to his office. You were about to knock at his door when you heard noise. You were afraid that something had happened to him when your heard them again. That wasn't noises that was moans coming from James and girl. You felt yourself nauseous. You didn't know if opening the door would be a good idea. You wanted to convince yourself that James wasn't cheating nonetheless if it wasn't just your imagination that would crush you. you went back to your room. Once you were there you ran to your bed and broke in tears. You fall asleep still crying.

The next morning you felt a hand on your cheek. You opened your eyes and recognized James. He was caressing your cheeks and smiling at you. you were about to smiled back when the memories of last night hit you. you took his hand and took it away from you. he frowned a bit but assumed that you weren't a morning person. He tried to cuddle you but you stood up and stayed away from him.

_ Dear Y/N I know that you're not a warm person during the morning but can I know why you're so cold? He asked concerned as you rolled your eyes.

_ Is it a real question? You replied unkindly.

_ Yes it is. He said still smiling at you.

_ Don't lie to me tell me where did you sleep last night? You asked already knowing the answer. He seemed to not understand the point of your question.

_ In my office working, why? You felt your anger boiled when he asked you that. Oh yeah I remember I didn't tell you that was going to work late and I planned a dinner with you. I am so sorry dear you probably waited for me during hours, please forgive me. You felt tears burning in your eyes, he was taking you for a fool.

_ Why don't you tell me the truth?

_ I don't know what you're talking about. He tried to put a hand on your shoulder but you moved away.

_ You perfectly know what I'm talking about but since you don't want to admit it, I should probably leave.

_ Wait what? I know that I should have warned you but you can't leave me for a such stupid reason.

_ I am not leaving for that. I am leaving because you cheated on me and you took me for an idiot pretending that nothing has happened. When these words left your mouth, you saw his face discomposed.

He didn't dare to say a word for seconds. As he couldn't explain himself, you took a wallet and packed some of your dresses in it. he just watched you in silence. You were making your way to the door when you felt his hand around your wrist. You turned to yell at him to let you go however when you faced him you realized that he was crying.

_ Y/N please listen to me. I didn't mean to cheat on you, I swear it was the first time since I met you. I want you to know that Elizabeth was my lover when we were younger. When I met you I ended our affair but she threaten me to reveal you all if I didn't give her a room there and a decent life. I was afraid that you would leave me if you were learning the truth. That is why she is here. Please forgive me. I will do anything to make you forgive me. I would kill her if you want.

The more he was speaking the more he was crying. That broke your heart, he was sincere and you couldn't stay mad at him for a long time. You knew that he was loving you and you loved him too. You took him in your arms and whispered
