"The Quiet Protector" Kellam x Fem!Reader

I should probably mention I proofread this while eating and watching t.v. so continue with an open mind about grammar

What a beautiful day... I can hear birds singing... smell the flowers... ah how I love taking naps under nice, shady... wait why is there a shadow belonging to nothing?! Panicking you yell, "Chrom! This campground is haunted! Libra get the holy water!"

"Uh, _____. It's me Kellam." You turn around and see Kellam come into focus right in front of you.

"H-how long were you standing there?"

"For quite a bit. You were kinda napping in my shadow and I didn't want you to get sunburnt..."

"So you protected me from the sun? Kellam... that's sweet but I completely wasted your afternoon!"

"No, really, it's ok I was polishing my weapon." How did I not notice the giant lance he's holding?

"Well, since you protected me from the evil sun, I think I owe you a favor."

"Don't worry about it. I think I can manage besides, how can you find me in order to return the favor?" He says with a sigh.

"Kellam, I am the army's tactician. It's my job to be observant and I will watch you like a hawk and jump in to help you whenever I can! You do so many things, yet you're so unappreciated," you turn away from him continuing your speech," You put up with people screaming because of floating weapons, you deal with us panicking where our drinks came from, and so much more! Kellam I am going to watch you like a haw- Hey! Where'd you go? Kellam? Kellam!" You huff and decide you will find Kellam.

The rest of the week you find Kellam once and awhile and you end up having a small conversation with him until he disappears and transcends into a higher plane.

~One week later~

"Hey there, Bubbles." A familiar thief plops down next to you in the dinning hall.

"Oh, hello Gaius!"

"So, ya finally lost your marbles?" He says with a smirk.

"What?"

"Me, Cordelia, and some others have seen ya talking to walls then get all upset like someone dumped ya."

"Uh actually she's been talking with me, Gaius" Kellam says while Gaius falls out of his chair.

"Gads man! You're gonna give me a heart attack." He spat and snuck away trying to play it cool.

"Acting like someone dumped you?" Kellam said quietly to himself.

"Hmm? What did you say?"

"N-nothing, sorry I got to go." He said and disappeared.

"Wait, Kellam!" You sighed, I want to spend more time with you Kellam... I want to know you.

-time skip-

"______. I l-love you. I don't care if no one else notices me, as long as you do I'll be happy." Kellam mumbles to himself as he straightened up the weapons. ________ you're the only one for me. Please, stay with me forever! How do I do this? She can't even see me... but I can see her. Jeez, that makes me sound like a stalker... No, I should tell her my feelings then she can decide for herself if I'm worth seeing.

"Hey, Stahl! Do you know where Kellam is?" Kellam freezes hearing ______'s voice from outside. Oh no, Stahl has been going out of his way to see me too and he's gotten good at it! Should I just... gods! I'm not ready!"

"Yeah, he's in the weapon inventory"

"Thank you!" You dash into the weapons room and trip over something.

"______!" You felt metal around your body and realize Kellam had caught you. You could see the worry on his face and felt your face turn red considering how close the two of you were. "I love you!" Kellam blurted out. Everything inside of him just screamed considering he said that out loud.

"Kellam, did you just... say you love me?"

"Y-yeah I guess I did a-and I meant it."

"Oh Kellam! I was so worried you didn't like me. I wanted to see more of you but it was hard for me to find you."

"You thought I didn't like you?" His face looked upset, "Oh, _______, you have no idea how much I adore you. I wanted to tell you but every time you were around me I got embarrassed and shy, I didn't mean to offend you. I hope you don't find this strange but... I enjoyed being invisible to you because I loved to look at you. I loved watching how kind you were to everyone. Then you noticed me. I fell in love with you and I started to want to see you more, well you see me more."

"Kellam, I love you. You've been the one who kept me safe in battle, stopped me from tripping, gave me food. Thank you. Thank you for everything. You've been protecting me from the shadows. My hero... I'm going to look for you. I'm going to look out for you. My knight in shining armor"
