Thornpetal couldn’t believe what she had just saw. Dawnstar had fallen off the side of the Great Plateau and Ambermoon was laughing at the cliffside.
“Dawnstar! No!” Thornpetal yelled as she rushed to Dawnstar’s crippled body.
She held back tears at the sight of her friend’s body lying still, barely breathing.
How is she still alive?! She’s barely breathing and that fall was several tree lengths high. I need to help her!
Thornpetal rushed to Dawnstar, tears now falling from her face.
“Dawnstar… Can you hear me?”
Dawnstar gave no response to Thornpetal’s question. She padded slowly over and nosed Dawnstar’s injured shoulder.
“Dawnstar, please open your eyes. I can help you.” Thornpetal whispered.
Dawnstar shuddered and whimpered.
“I-I failed you all. I’m so sorry,” she whispered, coughing.
“You haven’t failed anyone yet Dawnstar. You’re not dead and I intend to keep you like that.”
Dawnstar whimpered again and flicked her torn ear.
“Fallenpaw is lost forever. He’s gone because I came up with this crazy idea that I could get rid of this darkness forever. He paid the ultimate price for my actions and there is no going back.” Dawnstar cried, ignoring the intense pain.
Thornpetal’s eyes went wide in shock.
“What do you mean? Fallenpaw is safe in StarClan.”
“No! A cat named Fawndrop killed him again in front of me and she will pay for it!” Dawnstar hissed.
She climbed to her paws but fell back to the ground in pain.
“Dawnstar stop! You’re hurting yourself!”
Dawnstar began breathing heavily and licked her shoulder wound. Thornpetal glanced around for cobwebs
“I’ll be right back. Please don’t try to get up again.”
Dawnstar sighed and looked at her wounds. A tear fell across her scarred muzzle as she remembered the first time Fallenpaw helped heal his first wound.
We were all so innocent and pure back then. We had no regrets and nothing kept from each other. Now Ambermoon has betrayed us all and Fallenpaw is lost forever. I’ll never see him again. It’s all my fault!
“I won’t give up!” Dawnstar yelled, balancing on her paws again.
Thornpetal trotted quickly out of the shadows, cobwebs lining a stick she found. She pelted over to Dawnstar as she saw her.
“What are you doing?!”
“I’m going to save the Clans. I’m going to save everyone from that tyrant!” Dawnstar yowled.
Thornpetal looked nervously at Dawnstar’s neck. “You’re still bleeding. Let me help you first.”
Dawnstar regretfully nodded and sat down. Thornpetal cautiously nosed the cobwebs onto the worst wounds and frowned.
“Didn’t you lose a life from the fall?”
Dawnstar shook her head, wincing in pain.
“Then that makes this even more dangerous. You’re bleeding from multiple wounds and who knows what else!” Thornpetal exclaimed.
Dawnstar snarled at the tortishell she-cat.
“I can deal with that later. Right now, I’m going to make that cat wish she never messed with me!” Dawnstar hissed, flexing her claws.
Thornpetal hissed, hackles raised when a whimper reached her ears.
“Who's there?” Thornpetal asked, standing defensively in front of Dawnstar, who had fallen once more.
“Calm down Thornpetal. It’s just me,” Copperfang meowed.
“Copperfang! What are you doing here? I thought you were being watched by Suntail,” Dawnstar whispered, struggling to her paws again.
“Dawnstar! You’re alive!” Copperfang exclaimed happily as he limped over to the two she-cats.
“Glad to see you’re okay.”
Dawnstar coughed heavily and fell on her haunches.
“Dawnstar. You need to rest. Let’s get out of the storm and under the shelter of the trees before you face Suntail again,” Thornpetal meowed to the hurting she-cat.
Dawnstar stood up and limped over to the treeline while gently leaning on Thornpetal.
“We can rest here for a few moments. I need to return to the Plateau so I can end this fight, once and for all!”
Copperfang and Thornpetal nodded nervously and sat beside the tabby she-cat.

Suntail trotted through the undergrowth. Darkshade, Icegaze, and Whitefang followed closely behind while Ambermoon followed behind Fiercefang and Foxtail. Suntail stopped and held her tail up.
“Ambermoon. I want you to come with me. We’re going to finish Dawnstar’s final lives off then deal with her in the Dark Forest. After that, we’ll deal with her clanmates.”
Ambermoon nodded and pointed at the prisoners with her tail tip. “Watch them.”
Darkshade nodded and sat beside Fiercefang while Icegaze and Whitefang sat near Foxtail.
Ambermoon quickly trotted after Suntail. Suntail turned her head as she walked.
“Dawnstar should be just around this bend. Once we’ve got her, feel free to whatever you please,” Suntail hissed.
Ambermoon nodded and followed behind Suntail.
“Can you believe that we ended Dawnstar?! It was so well executed!”
Suntail laughed as she walked. “You did a wonderful job. Now to see the look on her cold, dead face!”
Suntail gasped in pure shock as she turned the bend.
“There is no way! How did he survive?!” Suntail asked franticly.
She turned around, eyes glaring.
“You!” Suntail yowled as she raked her claws across Ambermoon’s face, “You failed me!”
“I-I’m sorry,” Ambermoon stuttered in shock.
“SUNTAIL! I WON’T LET YOU TAKE THEM! COME HERE AND FACE ME!” Dawnstar roared from the Plateau, her eyes blazing with pure hatred.
