"Is she dead?"
I heard a voice linger in my ear as eye slowly open my eyes. My eye adjust and I look at myself. Gravy, dango sauce, potatoes, all of my food splashed all over me. It was all over my hair and face, especially my clothes. I found myself lying against a table, motionless. Someone had knocked me over or something, and that person, coated me my entire appetite. I lift my head, my hair, now covered in au gratin potatoes covered my face. I heard some people gasp.
"This is my fault...." I heard a voice say in guilt. Suddenly, my hands slammed against the table, the sound caused the crowd to jump. I lifted myself up and I stumbled against the table. I turn to face the crowd, Lenalee had her mouth covered her mouth like she had just watched someone get murdered. I heard another smack across something. "Allen! Of course it was your fault you knocked the new girl's food all over her!" Lenalee scolded the boy who hit me.
I rose my head fully, I saw a white haired boy, his face was full of guilt and worry. Something had caught my eye about him, a mark. He had a red mark across his eye, a cursed mark. I blinked at the boy named 'Allen' and my eyes widened. That was the Allen Lenalee has a crush on, I raised an eyebrow at everyone and looked back at Allen. "So. Your Allen Walker?" I spoke up lowly, Allen snapped his head up and his eyes widened. "Uh. Y-Yes....I'm really...uh...sorry." He stammered uncontrollably rubbing the back of his head. I felt like all of my patience had been obliterated from my mind, I never felt more embarrassed than ever, I could hear low laughter and snickers linger through my ears. I slam my fist on the table in anger.
"What kind of place is this?! First I get mistaken for an Akuma, then I get called a shorty by that asshole over there..." I point to Kanda, who kept a glare on me, which caused my anger to rage higher. "Now I get all of the food that I was happily going to eat all over me!" I never raised my voice like this before. "So much for being excited to be here." I mumble lowly. Lenalee released her hands from her mouth and she looked at Allen. Allen stared at the ground, his cheeks hot with embarrassment. I look at the two and roll my eyes. "So, is anyone gonna show me where a bathroom is?" I ask crossing my arms, Dango sauce dropped from my messy white hair.
Allen jumped when Lenalee pushed him forward at me. His hands were at his sides and he looked at me, his eyes clearly showed he was scared. "Uh, I will." He mumbled. I glare at Allen before sighing. "Alright then..." I turn on my heel toward the door. "Lead the way then." I point. Allen looked back at Lenalee, Lenalee raised an eyebrow and nodded. Allen turned back and lead the way out. I slowly trailed behind him, I really didn't really want to be with him.
As we made our way down a hall, I continued to stay silent and keep my eyes on the ground. Allen and I never spoke a word. I felt very embarrassed walking by other exorcists and seeing them giving me weird looks. I let out a long sigh before nearly smacking my nose into Allen, I grunt and stop instantly. "What?" I shoot. Allen points to the bathroom door. "Th-There...I can keep guard if you want." He mumbled, clearly still embarrassed. I look at the door before walking up to it. I didn't say a word, Allen turned around. "I can get Lenalee to bring you another pair of clothes." He said to me. I could tell he was trying to get me to forgive him, I rolled my eyes and walked in. "Sure." I say to Allen before closing the door.
I wait for the hot water to heat up and I strip off my clothes. They were sticky, full of food and sauces. I tossed them aside and stepped inside the hot shower, the steam filled my senses and I let out a relaxing sigh. The sauce washed from my hair and poured down the drain along with the water. It felt good to have a shower, a hot one. I remember when Master Cross made me shower in cold water only. It was painful, I almost got frostbite once, almost had to chop my foot off.
Another thought came to my mind, I rose my head and leaned against the shower wall. There was a person, I haven't seen him in over five years since going with Cross. We uses to fight almost everyday, but, ever since I left, I've missed him like crazy. I never got a chance to write him, or call him, or even see him. He was the only type of family I had left. He was my older brother.
He was Lavi Bookman.
