Chapter 23

When we got to my house, my mom and Vincent were waiting.

"I found this at the door earlier today." It was an envelope. I opened it and inside was a picture of me and Kendall. I'm watching you. It said. I handed it too Kendall and he looked it over.

"Who sent it?" I asked.

"We don't know. But we think it's the same people who sent the missiles." My mom concluded. Even though my dad's name was cleared, someone was still watching us. And they weren't happy about a half-vampire and a fairy having a relationship.

"What do we do?" 

"I'm not sure. I don't want you going anywhere but school and home." I was about to protest, but her face silenced me.

"Same for you, Ken." Vincent agreed.

She continued. "And I don't want you to be alone. Will one of you two stay with Vivian while I'm at work?" 

Kendall volunteered himself. Well I guess there was one good thing coming out of this. After a few more minutes of planning, Vincent and my mom left. I went to the fridge and grabbed two waters. I handed one to Kendall.

"Well since we can't go anywhere," He said. "Let's watch Gossip Girl."

"You actually like Gossip Girl?" I asked.

"No, but you do." He smiled and took my hand. We went to the couch.

Todd Saltzman was sitting in his office. He drummed his fingers angrily on the table. He was mad that he didn't get any information out of the children. The little fairy kept sending him away. She had mind control. This made her very dangerous to their plans. A figure walked into the office. He was wearing a trench coat and a hat. 

"Did you find what I asked for?" The man asked.

"No, the fairy used mind control on me and sent me out of the room." Mr. Saltzman felt fear rise up inside him He had failed his only assignment.

"Nonsense, her power is flying at extreme speeds." The man responded.

"No sir, she made me think my phone was ringing. I was forced to leave." The man smiled. A fairy with more than one power. This is excellent. He thought.

"You have giving me what I wanted. You can be done." He left the office. Mr. Saltzman sat there, completely frozen. 

Kendall and I managed to watch four episodes of Gossip Girl. After the second one, Kendall started to get interested.

"So do Chuck and Blair end up together?" He asked and was full of interest.

"I heard they get married." I responded. The doorbell rang and I went to answer it. No one was there. I looked around and was about to close the door, but I saw something on the ground. A bouquet of dead roses. Kendall came to the door to check on me. His eyebrows furrowed at the roses. He picked them up and threw them into the trash.

"It's just somebody trying to scare us." He said as he pulled me to him. Well it was working with the missiles, picture, and dead flowers I was starting to worry.

An hour later, my mom came home and Kendall left. I was in my room when my mom called me. I went downstairs to find her with a man in a trench coat.

"Vivian, this is Conner Morgenson. Mr. Morgenson, this is my daughter Vivian." My mom introduced us.

"Hello Vivian." He stuck out his hand and I shook it.

"Hello Mr. Morgenson."

"I'd like to start off by letting you know, I'm a fairy just like you." I looked at my mom. She nodded as if they knew each other forever.

"Oh, nice to know" I said.

"If you don't mind my asking, what is your power. I can sense people's emotions." He examined my face. "You don't trust me and that's okay. We'll have time to get to know each other."

"I have three." I said. His face filled with wonder.

"Will you show me?" He looked really interested. I closed my eyes and he gasped. He thought there were spiders crawling all over him. My mom gave me an annoyed look.

"I'm sorry about my daughter, Connor." She said apologetically.

"It's quite alright." My mom got bored and left the room. Mr. Morgenson turned his attention to me again. "What are the others?" He stepped closer to me. 

"I can fly really fast." He nodded. “And I can heal people." I thought of when I healed Diana's hand. Mr. Morgenson reached for a knife and sliced his finger. I jumped back completely freaked out.

"Heal me." He said. His face showed he was in pain. I was still in shock over what he did. After a minute, I stepped towards him. I covered his finger with my hand. We watched as his skin glowed. I lifted my hand and his cut was gone. I whipped the blood off my hand. My mom came back into the room. I take it she hadn't seen what had happened or she would have kicked him out. Mr. Morganson left us and my mom went to bed. All I knew was Mr. Morganson wanted answers. He was up to something and I was going to find out.
