Chapter 4-Threats and Gossip

Lunch.You could get out of school,go to a cafe and eat,whatever.I might get lost,so I decided to stay in school,like a good girl.I munched on an apple while reading my LOTR book under a shady tree.I was up till the Shelob part when I heard someone call my name.

I looked up from my book to see Niall,Louis,Liam and Zayn running up to me.'Amanda!!'

'Yeah?'

'C'mon ya lass!We're going to a cafe nearby!Let's go!'Niall said,pulling me up.

'Forget that book!Frodo wins anyway!'Louis said,yanking the book from my hands.

'Who cares if an apple a day keeps the doctor away?!!'Liam cried out,swiftly throwing my apple core into a dustbin nearby.

Zayn reached for my hand and pulled me along.'I've been ambushed!!Help!!Boy attack!!'I screamed loudly,giggling hysterically along the way.

'Shhhh!!!!Principal Wright will kill us!!'Liam said.

'Heheh!Principal "Wrong"!'I said,cracking us up in hysterical laughter.

We reached some cafe called "Costa". 'Costa?It's so...Starbucks!'I said.

'What?Oh,the American version of Costa.Love their Frappucinos though!'Louis told me.

'Hey,guys.I got a text from Harry.He said he couldn't make it today.He's....with his girlfriend.'Niall informed us.

'What girl-'Louis was saying but Zayn interrupted him.

'Oh well that's unfortunate!'Zayn said,eyeballing Louis.Louis just shrugged with a look that said, Not my problem!What is going on??!!!

'What coffee would you like,Amanda?'Niall asked me.

'Errr....mocha.With whipped cream and caramel praline!'

'Cool,I want that too!!'Louis said.

'Latte!'

'Expresso!'

We walked out with our coffee and some food.I've got an eclair.We have five minutes to spare when we got back to school.We went our separate ways.I went to my lockers to get my books for the next class,Biology.I slammed my door shut and turned to...

face to girls.One has purple and blue dyed hair and a redhead.The purple and blue haired one said to me,'Stay away from them!'

'Them who?'

'Ooh she's an idiot!'The redhead sneered.

'The boys,you idiot!Stay away!Harry's MINE!'

'And I've got Niall,so stay away from him too!'

'Excuse me?!I hang out with who I want.It's a free country...or so I heard.'I smirked.

'Ditwad!Barb,let's go!'They both sashayed off.Barb...short for Barbara?

Thanks to Mean and Meaner,I arrived at class late.Thank God I'm new because the teacher,Mr. Wyatt,understood my new student dilemma.

'Amanda,you may sit with....ah,Mr. Styles!'I looked up when he said "Styles".Oh,snap,why him?!!I could have sworn I heard him grunt.Why,why,why,why,WHY??!!!

I reluctantly sat next to him.Throughtout the whole lesson,he didn't say anything.At all.

At the end of the lesson,Harry stomped off before Mr. Wyatt could say "Dismissed!"

Someone tapped my shoulder.What is up with my shoulder being tapped all the time??!!!!Is it a tradition for British people to tap other people's shoulders???'Yeah?'

I turned to see the girl sitting behind me look at me excitedly.'How was sitting next to THE Harry Styles,bad boy of Paddington High?!'

'Um...normal...?'Bad boy huh?

'Normal?What did he say?As the flirt of his group of friends,he should melt your heart with flattery!'She talked soooo fast!

'Er....no actually....He didn't say anything.'

'Nothing!?'She looked at me in disbelief.'How can you NOT melt,just by sitting next to him?!'

'He's my neighbour too.'

'What??!!'

'The guy lives next door!'

'Ooooohhhh!!!'I rolled my eyes at her.'You've watched the "You Belong With Me" Taylor Swift music video,right?'I nodded.I know where she's getting at.I shook my head.

'It's a dream come true for those crushing on Mr. Curls!'She laughed nervously.

'You have a crush on him?'

'N-no!I like Niall!He's so cute and....Irish!'We laughed together.

'Oh,duh!I'm Amanda.'

'Riley Frost.'

'What's your next class?'

'Geography.'

'Me too!Let's go then!'

When we reached the Geography class,I had a bitter-sweet surprise.Not only Harry was there,even Liam!'Let's sit at the back to gossip about the guys,music and whatever!'Oh hell no!I wanted to say.She led us to the seats behind the guys.I think she's doing this on purpose!

'Hey,look who it is!Hey,Amanda!'Liam waved at me.

'Hey,Liam.Oh this is Riley,by the way.'

'Hi.'Riley waved,breathless.

'Harry,say hi to Amanda and Riley!Don't be anti-social!'Harry didn't say anything.Liam nudged Harry.'You feeling ill,mate?'

Harry shook his head.'Then what's wrong?You like girls!'Then,the most surprising thing happened.Harry punched Liam's arm so hard.'Oh, f***!!'

'No swear words in class,Mr. Payne!'Our Geography teacher suddenly appeared.

'Sorry,Madame Yu.'Madame Yu is this Chinese lady with a bun on top of her head and an exaggerated British-Chinese accent.And she looked at everyone and landed her eyes on me.From stern bulldog,to sweet cupcake,she joked,'Well,hello!I think you're in the wrong class here.'Some people snickered.

'Er....I'm Amanda Steel.The new student?'

'Ah yes!They told me to expect one!Welcome to our class,Miss Steel!'
