Chapter 16

The Alpha team quickly walked towards the aerospace to prepare for their departure. Only one hour left before they get Fidi back

"She's still not back" Ripcord said as he sighed

They were about to enter the plane but Blue stopped them

"Team Alpha. I'm having readings that Fidi is close with Nightmare. You don't need to go" Blue said while panting, obviously made an effort to run from the control panel room

General Hawk walked towards the Alpha team "Is she safe?" He asked Blue

"Nightmare's report shows that she's alive but wounded" Blue said

"Go and get medic!" General Hawk ordered, the other joe quickly run towards the infirmary to call for medical attention

And in just a few minutes, the doctors and nurses arrived with a stretcher

The wall opened showing Nightmare in sight

"Okay! Make sure Nightmare lands carefully! We have a wounded person inside!" Blue said to earpiece while looking at the control panel

Nightmare slowly landed to the surface. Snake Eyes quickly run to take Fidi out of the plane as soon as the ladder is attached

Snake Eyes bit his lips as he saw an unconscious wounded Fidi inside. He gently carried her and placed her at the stretcher.

The doctor and nurses quickly pushed the stretcher towards the infirmary. The Alpha Team followed with worries in their faces

The team was stopped by the nurses and told them to stay outside. The team waited for hours until the doctor came out, they all stand and wait for his report

"Fidi is safe" They all sighed in relief "We restitched her wounds and applied medicines in her bruises. There's nothing to be worried about but she'll be sleeping for twenty hours because of exhaustion and hunger. Her body was worn out, it's like she faced a thousand warriors at her state. I already made sure she receives enough vitamins to regain her energy back. You can go see her now" the doctor said "But please try not to be noisy. Thank you"

Team Alpha entered the room quietly and saw a sleeping Fidi

Snake Eyes stood at the bed side and held Fidi's pale hands. He didn't mind their gaze, he was too happy to see her okay and alive

"Are they?" Ripcord was about to ask while pointing at Snake Eyes but Scarlett nudged him to keep quiet "What?" He looked at her

"Don't worry Snake, she's okay now" Duke said and patted Snake's shoulder

"We have to wait for twenty more hours, It's​ not that long" Flint said while smiling

"I'm glad she's back" Lady Jaye said as she looked at Fidi

Everyone, except for Snake Eyes, looked at Lady Jaye

"So you don't hate her anymore?" Jinx asked in wonder

"She saved my life back in Paris. She's not that bad and she deserves some credit" Lady Jaye said as she rolled her eyes

"Come on guys. Let's leave Snake here" Roadblock said, shooing the Alpha team

Everyone followed quietly except for Ripcord who keeps on asking questions about the two

Fidi opened her eyes slowly and saw an unfamiliar room. She looked to hee left and noticed that she's in an infirmary back at the GI JOE. She let a sigh of relief. She's finally home

Fidi noticed something wrapped around her right hand. She looked and saw Snake Eyes sleeping while holding her hand tightly. She smiled and slowly sat up "Snake?"
