"Shawn... I want a divorce."

Those are the four words that can totally rip your entire life, universe and world to pieces. Make all you've ever known, your entire existence... make it vanish before your very eyes.
But most of all, hearing those words from the one person you love the most, your wife, your family, your heart and soul... It breaks your heart to pieces.

"W-What... Emelia." I stuttered, "What—why do you want a divorce?" my heart stopped beating in my chest and I felt the cold rush over me. I felt sick. I felt the knot in my tummy and the lightheaded feeling washing over me. Feeling how my hands, legs and body are all shaking.

"You never have time, Shawn." Her eyes broke, showing me her sore heart. "You never have time to spend with me or the kids. They miss you Shawn..." she paused, creating a deep feeling, "I miss you." She said with tears inher eyes and I ran my hands through my hair. I'm so confused, so caught off guard.
I thought everything was okay? Guess not.

"What do you expect from me. This is my job Em. I can't just let it go." I heard her sighing as I walked closer to her. "But you said you'd never let your career get in the way of your marriage. It's gotten far beyond that point Shawn. It's gotten in the way of your relationship with me and your own children to." She walked off, wiping the tears from her face.

I sat down on the couch, taking it all in on what just happened. Taking in what she said, what she told me and the way she looked. Broken and sad. A sorrow of my own creation.
How can I have let this happen?
How could I?

Let's take it back a few months ago.
I was on tour, busy with the last league of the Illuminate Tour.
I just got back to the hotel when the phone rang and I saw Emelia's face lighting uo my screen.

"Hello." I answered

I was in the living room watching TV when Emelia came back with the kids. "Hey princess." I said standing up to greet my little girl.

"Hello daddy." She said and gave me a small hug before going to her room. My son just walked past me. Grace is 5 and Micheal is 15. "Micheal. Aren't you going to say hello to your father?" Emelia said and he looked at me. "Hey dad." He said and walked up to his room. "Okay what's his problem?" I asked walking into the kitchen where she was busy unpacking groceries.

She sighed resting against the counter. "You Shawn. You know he told me in the car this mornig that you didn't even go to his soccer game." She said and my heart stopped. "Shit. I forgot about that." I said and she laughed. "You don't say." She said and walked out to the staircase.

"Emelia please. We can talk this out." I said and she stopped on the stairs. "We can't talk this out Shawn. It's been going on to long. It's to late to change." She said and walked on.
