Emelia's pov:
I dropped the kids off at school before going to a coffee shop and meet up with Michelle, my best friend since high school. "He's not the man I married anymore Michelle. He changed." I told her while typing on my new blog post.
"But he'll never choose his career before you and the kids Emelia. You know that." She said and I shut my computer. "He already did that." I said and she sighed, taking another sip of her coffee.
*flashback* Today we graduate high school. Shawn came back from tour not to long ago and I'm so happy to have him with me again. Hold him in my arms. "And with that said. Congratulations, graduates." The principal said and we threw our caps in the air. Shawn crahsed his lips to mine and I smiled into the kiss as I wrapped my arms around his neck. "I have a surprise for you." He said and took my hand in his before pulling me to the side where my parents and his parents are to. "Emelia Rhodes. You know I love you with all my heart." He started saying and kneeled down onto one knee. My eyes started tearing up and I smiled as he took my one hand in his. "Will you marry me?" He asked and I nodded, as he slipped the ring onto my finger. I don't care if we just graduated. I love him. Nothing is gonna change that. I crahsed my lips to his. Can't wait to spend the reat of my life with this guy. *end flashback*
"Everything will be okay Em." Michelle said taking my hand in hers and I smiled faintly up at her. "I have to go. Grace has a price giving that needs attending." I said and stood up, packing my things up. "I hope he comes." She said and I sighed, laughing sarcastically.
"Not even the reminder on his phone will make him come." I said and greeted her before walking back to my car. I arrived at her kindergarten and walked into the hall. I saw her standing on the stage as I took my seat. She waved at me and I blew her a kiss.
"Grace Mendes." The teacher called her and she ran to the front, her little shoes squeaking as she does. She received her certificate for a full years participation at the school and for her little art exhibition she had. Grace loves to draw, and she's good at it to.
"Congratulations sweetie. I'm so proud of you." I said after the ceremony and gave her a big hug with a kiss on the head. But she wasn't at all happy.
Shawn didn't come and I saw the hurt in her eyes. She wanted her dad here more than she wanted me here.
