Emelia's pov:

I couldn't go out so I had to move the meeting for the divorce papers. "Thank you for coming out. I really appreciate it." I said to my lawyer and we sat down at the dining room table.

Just as she slided the papers over to me the front door opened and Shawn walked in. "Emelia I came back to check on- you. What's this?" He asked as he saw me and the lawyer in the dining room.

"Shawn this is-" I started saying but my voice faded away. "I'm Rita Mackly. You're wife's lawyer." She said and shook his hand. "I'd like to say it's a pleasure meeting you but it really isn't." Shawn said and I looked at him with big eyes.

"You're really going through with this?" He asked me and I looked down at my hands in my lap. "I'll give you two a minute." She said and walked out of the dining room. "Emelia. You can't do this. You can't take my kids away from me and I can't lose you!" He said sitting down infront of me.

"Don't you get it? You pushed your kids away. You pushed me away." I tried saying as loud as possible but it came out more like a whisper. "Did you ever take the time to talk to them about what's going on? Grace is 5 Shawn. 5! She needs you but you're not there." I said again and felt the tears in my eyes.

He didn't say anything. He just sat there with his head in his hands. I sighed and stood up. "You have 2 weeks to sign this or it'll move to court." I said sliding the file with the divorce contract infront of him. "Emelia please." He said taking my hand as I walked past him.

I saw the tears in his eyes and it breaks my heart. I don't want to do this but things can't go on this way. "I love you Shawn. I do. I really do. You're my everything but I'm not yours anymore. The kids aren't your everything anymore. Things changed. And I hate how it turned out." I said and he stood up.

"So you'll rather be alone?" He aksed as I walked into the living room. I turned around and looked at him.

"Yes. I'd rather be alone than lonely." I said and walked the lawyer out to her car.
