Ice Cream

Peridot's POV:
"Hey, Lapis", I looked at her as we left the church building. "Can I come with you next week too?", I asked Lapis as I thought ​about my old church. "Yeah", Lapis smiled at me. "Hey, I really like this church. I'm so happy it's not like the church I used to go to!", I exclaimed looking at Lapis with stars in my eyes. "Everything is a little different, Peri", she smiled at me "Think about how different Paulette and Peir are." "My old church is Paulette. Your church is Peir. Who is Percy?", I looked at her ocean blue eyes. "You are! And I'm Peir", Lapis picked me up and spun me around as we both giggled. "Look your mom is over there", I pointed at Mrs. Agate as she and Aquamarine came walking towards us. "Hi, Aqua.", I said as the little girl hugged me around the legs. "Hello, Mrs. Agate", I shook hands with Lapis' mother. "I'm so sorry Mrs. Diamond, but I forgot that I was leaving for work today. I'm sorry to have to ask, but I didn't get a baby sitter for Aqua and last time I left her with lil' Lappy here when I came back the house was a mess. Can you help Lapis take care of Aquamarine for the next two days?", Mrs. Agate sounded embarrassed that she had to ask. "Of course", I said looking at Lapis as she was picking up her younger sister. "Again, I'm so sorry", Mrs. Agate hid her face. "Lapis, make sure Aquamarine wakes up on time", she now turned her attention to Lapis. "Bye mommy", Aqua detached herself from me to give her mother a hug. "Bye, girls", Blue Agate smiled at her daughters then gave them both good-bye hugs. "Thank you. Take care if them", Mrs. Agate told me and I could tell she really trusted me. "Yes ma'am", I shook her hand again being as formal as I could. "Can we get ice cream?", Aquamarine looked up at Lapis with hope filling her bright blue eyes. "Ask Peridot", she shrugged. "You mean your boyfriend?", Aqua stuck her tongue out at her sister. "No", Lapis and I said at the same time then blushed. "Sorry, ahem...", Aquamarine started "girlfriend." "AQUAMARINE!", Lapis yelled out of embarrassment. "What kind of ice cream do you like?", I asked grabbing Aquamarine's hand that wasn't already held by Lapis. "Blueberry", she answered as we began to cross the street. "One, two, three", Aqua began to count down "JUMP!". "What kind of ice cream do you like, Lapis?", I looked at Aquamarine's sister now. "I also like blueberry", she opened the back door of my car. Aquamarine sat down in the back seat then Lapis helped her fasten her seat belt. "Hey, Peri", Aquamarine began. "Yes?", I asked starting the car. "You and Lapis should get married and have little kids for me to play with", she smiled innocently as Lapis and I blushed. "I don't even like kids. Or most at least kids you, Steven, and Connie are fine", I said in response to Aquamarine. "Anyways your sister and I have only gone in one date", I added then looked at Lapis. "Steven is so much fun, you should meat him", Lapis unbuckled despite the fact I was still driving then proceeded to jump over the back of the seat and sit by her sister. "Lapis!", I yelled. "What?", she fastened her seat belt and slouched in her spot. "That's not safe", I scolded her on her safety​. "Uh no, I hope I don't get hurt. You're going thirty miles an hour! It's ​totally safe to switch seats", she said sarcastically. "The speed limit is thirty! I'm sorry I'm driving safely!", I yelled at her. Aqua's eyes filled with tears because I had yelled at her sister then Lapis just looked blankly out the window. "I'm sorry, Lapis", I said as I pulled into a parking spot at the ice cream place. "I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream", Aquamarine sang happily whilst skipping along the sidewalk. "What are you sorry for?", she looked at me. "Nothing", I looked down in embarrassment for yelling at her. "Okay, if you say so", Lapis shrugged then ran to catch up with her sister. Aquamarine didn't see her sister behind her untill Lapis picked her up and set her in her shoulders. "Where's you boyfriend?", Aqua looked down at Lapis' face. "Over there", she pointed at me. "You admitted she's your boyfriend!", Aqua teased. "I'm her girlfriend, you clod", I ran up to them. "Ooo", Aquamarine smirked as Lapis kissed me on the check. "What's with oo's, are you Pearl?", Lapis chuckled and realized the girl who sits two seats in front of me is Pearl. "Wait, is Pearl the girl who had a crush on our homeroom teacher?", I asked my girlfriend. "Yep", Lapis set her sister down and opened the door as Mrs. Rose was walking out. "Hello, Mrs. Rose", Lapis and I shook hands with our teacher. "Pearl likes you", Aquamarine said abruptly and you could see how embarrassed Lapis and I were. "I know", she winked at us then walked away. "I don't like my teacher!", Pearl jumped out of a bush holding a camera. "Did you follow us", Aquamarine made a fake gun with her hands. "No! Why would I follow y'all?", Pearl looked at Lapis with a disgusted look in her eyes. "Mrs. Rose?", I asked. "Well...um...I", she tried to hide the camera behind her back. "You did didn't you", Lapis grabbed her arm and revealed the camera. "Yes, but I...", Pearl blushed. "We'll see you at school", Lapis said as her sister walked into the ice cream shop. We ordered our ice cream and sat down. "Topaz and Topaz!", The little girl ran to her friends. "Which one is Topaz", I asked her sister. "Both", Lapis made a strange face. "Hi, Aquamarine", both Topazes welcomed her in unison. Topaz and Topaz invited Aquamarine to go to the park with them and their parents said they could bring her back to my house. While they were at the park Lapis reminded me to get dish soap. "Do we need to go pick up your's and Aquamarine's clothes and stuff?", I asked Lapis. "Yeah then we'll go back to your house", Lapis said as I pulled into the parking lot.  "Once Aquamarine is back we can go swimming then have supper on the beach", I smiled at her knowing how much she loved the ocean. "I love that idea, Peridot", she kissed me on the cheek then opened the car door and stepped out. I locked the doors then got out of the car as well. "Dish soap is over here, Peri", Lapis called looking at me as I searched through the DVDs. "They have a Camp Pining Hearts DVD", I pointed at it. "Okay, but you need soap", Lapis motioned for me to go join her by the dish soap. "What season?", I heard a voice behind me. "Five", I answered without turning around. "Trash", Steven responded. "I know", I agreed with him. I saw I tape recorder then walked to Lapis waving Steven good-bye. "Hey Lazuli, look at this", I smiled up at her as she was comparing two brands of soap. "I don't want your garbage", she took it out of my hand and set it on the self. "Which dish soap do you want?", she looked down at me and smiled. "The one on the left", I grabbed the tape recorder then put it back and checked out. "Bye Steven", Lapis said as we waved at him. As Lapis got in the car she hugged me around the neck and I hugged her back. "Let's go", she buckled and I began to drive. When we got back to my house we sat on the couch watching Camp Pining Hearts as we waited for Aquamarine to come back from the park. "What do you like to do when you get home from church", I asked looking into Lapis' eyes. "Water plants in my yard", she shrugged. "I should plant a garden", I smiled and stood up.
