Chapter 11 | Carnival

"Woooo!!!" I screamed happily. I won 4 tickets to the carnival at a shooting Booth that was held by my neighborhood. It was only $3 to play so I took up the challenge.

Usually I'd be playing games or watching dramas at home but today I felt less lazy and decided to explore. Surprisingly I shot down 5/5 of the panels and won 1st prize which was 4 tickets to a carnival being held nearby. Supposedly it's hard to get tickets but I guess I got lucky. I ran home quickly and called Jinyoung.

"Yah, I got tickets!!" I said as soon as he picked up.

"Tickets? For what?" He answered in a husky voice. He must've woken up from a nap.

"Tickets for the carnival!! You wanna come? I've got 3 extra tickets."

"Sure, who else are you going to bring?"

"I don't know I'll probably ask some friends at school." I said shrugging.

"Oh, ok. When is it being held?" He asks.

"In three days which is a Saturday. So I'll call you later, yeah?"

"Ok, sure. Bye"

"Bye-bye!" I squealed after I hanged up.

I've never been to a carnival before because my parent we're always busy and never had time to take me to activities like the the carnival or to a school football game. So I just ended up playing Xbox or PlayStation at home.

I've always wanted to ride the Ferris wheel because I looked so high up. Even though I'm not fond of high places, I've always wondered how beautiful the view would be at night.

Tomorrow which was a Friday, I got dressed and went to school on my bike. I was so happy last night that I could barley sleep. I went to the bike station and locked my bike in place. As I was headed to first hour, Tae called out to me.

"Mari!~" he said when he caught up to me.

"So Mari, are you busy Saturday?" He asks.

"Yeah, I'm going to the carnival on that day. Why?

He looked kind of disappointed to hear that but before I could say anything else, he told me that he was planning on hanging out with me on the weekends. Since I didn't spend a lot of time at school with him, I asked if he wanted to go to the carnival too.

"What, really!!? So is it going to be just the two of us?" He looks at me with excitement gleaming from his eyes.

"No, my friend Jinyoung will be joining us also. But I have an extra ticket if you have anyone you wanna invite."

He looks sad for some reason and then asks if he could invite his older brother. I gave him my remaining ticket and right after that the bell rings. Since we had 1st hour together we ran to math class.

Mr. Jeon looked unamused when he saw us barely making it to class before three minutes after the first bell was up. At our school, when the bell rings, it means you have 3 minutes to get to your next class and if you don't, you have to get a late pass from the office.

He glares at us and told us to sit down. We did as we we're told and  quietly giggled after taking our seats. It felt like high school all over again with a mean teacher and strict rules. Especially when you're as immature as me. I laugh at every dirty joke or even if something sounds dirty.

One time we had a substitute teacher whom we had to call "Mrs. Angus" but she was so mean that my classmates secretly called her "Mrs. Anus". Yes, it was me that started calling her that and then the rest catches on.

Saturday, Carnival Day

Jinyoung and I we're waiting for Taehyung and his brother to show up. While we waited, Jinyoung bought cotton candy for us and we ate it while waiting. Taehyung finally shows up by the entrance with a little kid following him that I assume is the brother. He was adorable and he looks just as excited as I am. He looked like a mini version of Tae.

We went up to Tae and his brother. I asked if they already exchanged their ticket for a wristband at the ticket Booth nearby. Mini Tae held up his arm showing his wristband. He was so cute that I had to smile. I was wearing comfy clothes (the picture above) and a pair of black shoes. I almost matched Taehyung. Tae introduced us to his brother.

"Guys this is Kim Samhyung, my little brother."

"He's so cute!" I said looking at Samhyung.

"Sam, this is Jinyoung and Mari." He said pointing to Jinyoung first and then me.

"Nice to meet you!" Sam says holding Taehyung's hand.

It was too adorable. I think I'm allergic to cuteness.

As we were walking and searching for a ride, I felt someone holding my hand. It was Sam. I felt someone else hold my other hand. This time it was Jinyoung. I looked at him with a "why did you do that?" expression and he gave me a "while if he can do it I can too" expression while he looked at my right hand that was holding Sam's tiny hands.

I didn't want to think anything more of it so I just did what I was doing before. Staring at the huge rides and listening to the scream of terror and excitement coming from people above us. That just made me even more thrilled to go on a ride.

"Yah, can't we go on one already?" I ask with impatience in the tone of my voice.

Little Sam agreed with me tugging on the edge of his brother's shirt. Jin saw me holding back so he offered to go around the kid rides with Sam. Unfortunately Sam didn't fit the height average in order to go on the big rides that I wanted to go on so it was just me and Tae left.

I thanked Jin and immediately after they departed from us, I grabbed Taehyung by the wrist and dragged him to the nearest roller coaster ride. He looked just as excited as I was so I grinned.

"Don't throw up on me, okay alien?" I stated. He looked sick when the ride was ending and slowing down.

"I can't promise you that" He said pretending to throw up on me by fake gagging. I ran and giggled as he chased me. Eventually he caught up with me because when I was running and laughing at the same time, my stomach started to hurt. The caught up to me, he suddenly embraced me with his big arms while I was still catching my breath.

Time passed by and it was getting dark. I called Jin to ask him and Sam if they were ready to call it a night and go home.

"Mari-yah~ You don't understand how I feel right now. My feet are about to fall off and I think I'm about to lose my voice from screaming!" He complained as I laugh.

"Weren't you on children rides with Sam? And you were screaming....omg...I can feel the embarrassment for poor Sam" I said while me and Tae bursted out with laughter.

We all met up at the exit which was close to the entrance and took separate cars. I went with Jin and Sam went home with Tae.

The was one of the most exciting and fun time I've ever had in my lifetime....
