"I'm a single dad, of course I'm stressed! But that's not the problem here!" Kelly blew up at Chief Boden.
"Kelly-"
"The problem is my daughter is at school and she's in trouble and I don't have anyone else to pick her up."
"I understand that, I do. But look at this from my perspective. There's so many eyes on this House at the moment, even if I let my Squad Lieutenant leave for 30 minutes, where are you taking your daughter? Here? Bad idea!"
"Chief, I've been a single dad since I was 23. Don't you think I have back-up plans for situations like this? Do you seriously think I haven't tried getting somebody to pick her up? Benny won't answer my calls, my sister lives in New York, Erin Lindsay is sick, the daycare can't pick her up from school, and I don't know who else to try! I'm out of options!" Kelly yelled, throwing his hands up in frustration.
Boden sighed and shook his head. "I don't know what to tell you, Kelly."
Kelly stood up and looked his chief in the eyes and said,"Thank you for the support. As you can imagine, this is very easy on me," before walking out of his office.
As Kelly was walking away from Chief's office, he ran in to Gabby.
"Hey, I heard about what's going on. Do you still need somebody to pick her up?" Gabby asked, her phone in her hand.
"Desperately, yes." Kelly answered, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration.
"Antonio can do it, don't worry. And he can watch her until tomorrow morning when we get off shift."
"Seriously?" Kelly asked, eyes wide.
"Yeah, don't worry. He owes me a favor anyway."
"Thank you! You're really saving my ass today."
"Oh, please. I save your ass everyday." Gabby teased.
Kelly laughed and rolled his eyes before walking away.

"Hey, Kelly." Antonio greeted as he walked up the firehouse driveway, the small Severide beside him.
"Hey. Thank you so much for picking her up and watching her. You seriously saved my butt." Kelly told him.
"Don't worry 'bout it, man. Besides, she's a great drinking buddy."
Kelly raised his eyebrows.
"Kidding! We watched Moana, Beauty and the Beast, and Finding Dory. Plus, we ate pizza and lots of it."
"Sounds fun. Probably a heck of a lot more fun than we'll have today." Kelly said, looking down at his daughter.
"You know?" The little girl asked.
"I know everything. And seriously? Fighting? You're in kindergarten!" Kelly told her.
"I had a good reason for it!" She defended.
"We'll talk later. Antonio, thank you for taking care of her. I think it's time to get home." Kelly said, ready to just go home.
Antonio nodded and approached his sister and brother-in-law. As Kelly walked with his daughter to his car, Stella came up beside him.
"Like father, like daughter." Stella told him.
"Unfortunately so." Kelly replied with a slight smile.
