"It's been so long. Why haven't we been updated?" Hannah asked Herrmann, who was feeding Nathan a bottle, as Otis fed Ryder and Cruz fed Lila.
"Hey, hang in there kiddo. Give it some time." Herrmann reassured her.
Then, Dr. Will Halstead walked out.
"How is he?" Stella immediately asked.
"Well, there was a lot of damage. The major stuff: there was some internal bleeding, which we did surgery to stop, also, a rib punctured his left lung. He's currently on a ventilator, but just until his lung heals a bit more. The less major injuries would be a broken right femur, a nasty concussion, a dislocated shoulder, and severe bruising." Will reported.
"Can I see him?" Stella asked.
"Yes, but he is in a medically induced coma, just until his lung heals more."
"Okay. But I can see him?"
"Of course, room 4."

"Stella, you've been here for nearly three days. Why don't you go home and get some sleep?" Will suggested as he checked Kelly's vitals.
"No, it's okay. Matt and Gabby are watching the kids and I sleep fine in this chair. Plus, Kelly could wake up any time now."
"You're right on that part. Everything seems to be healing and he's off the ventilator, so he should be waking up soon."
"I hope so. Hannah's been worried, and Gabby said the triplets haven't been sleeping well."
"I could imagine. But, I gotta do some rounds and I'll be back to check on Kelly later. Hang in there."
"Thanks Will."
After Will left, Stella pulled out her phone and FaceTimed Gabby, who would undoubtedly be awake with the triplets.
And sure enough, Gabby answered the call on the second ring.
"Hey Stella! Look, Lila! It's mama!" Gabby said to the baby who was in her arms.
"Hi Lila!"
"How're you hanging in there?" Gabby asked.
"Alright, I suppose. How're the kids?"
"Well, Matt and I are taking tomorrow off, for starters. Hannah didn't attend school today; she was crying and upset about Kelly this morning. She'll probably miss tomorrow too, but Matt is getting her work and catching her up."
"That's okay, as long as she's getting caught up. How about the triplets?"
"Well, none of them are sleeping too well. Ryder hasn't been eating much, Nathan cries a lot more than usual, and Lila is just fussy altogether. But, they miss their mommy and daddy, so it's understandable."
"I think if Kelly hasn't waken up by tomorrow morning, I'll leave and visit the kids for awhile."
"Sounds good. I gotta go, Matt's struggling to get Nathan to calm down. Keep me posted."
"I will. Thanks for everything!"
"No problem!"
And with that, Stella sat and stared at Kelly once again. Just as she was about to fall asleep, she heard a noise. Her eyes shot open and she looked at Kelly, just to see him with his eyes open.
"Stella..." he groaned, looking over at her slowly.
"I'm right here, baby. You're okay, okay? You're gonna be just fine. I love you so much!" Stella told him, kissing his cheek and pressing the 'call' button.
