my heart goes out to Harry and his family through this difficult time. I ask, if you have access to Harry or meet him on the street, please be respectful of him and give him privacy. He deserves nothing but love, but please don't spam him and let him and his family grieve in peace. thank you ❤️
___________________________________The next day of work was just as I expected. It was as if yesterday was a test run and now they're laying it full on me. There were multiple articles regarding Harry's potential hold for a few games, but none of them were consistent, and you could tell the writers were struggling to get a direct quote so their facts would be straight.
I tossed every Harry article I came across aside, not wanting to read them at the moment. I knew if I delved into them too much, I'd do exactly what Tanner told me not to do, and that was to get an interview.
While Louis was out on his break, Leigh-Anne thought it'd be a good time to give me more information on the arrogant baseball player while his number one fan was out of earshot.
"I heard Harry's in Portland." She said, and I raised my eyebrows.
"Is that a fact or are we just assuming?" I asked. "It seems like any sort of topic about him is a guessing game."
"No, he's here. The Jaguars are going into training and Oregon Stadium is where they're practicing until their stadium in Seattle is rebuilt."
"And why are you telling me this?"
"You want an interview, right?"
I pressed my lips together, looking up at her questionably. "Are you serious?"
"The opportunity is here, Vivian." She said. "If you feel confident enough to march down their and ask a few questions, then go for it."
"That's just it," I said as I slumped in my seat. "I don't think I'm confident enough. I also don't think my boyfriend would approve of me interviewing a guy like him all by myself."
"Really?" She scoffed. "Are you seriously going to let your boyfriend tell you that you can't do your job?"
"But reporting isn't my job. I'm just an editor."
"But it could be your job if you got this interview."
I sat for a moment upon hearing those words. She was right; if I landed an interview with the Harry Styles, I'd be a household name. I'd get promoted and I'd be able to write my own articles. Who knows, maybe Harry isn't as bad as they say. I haven't even met him, how can I judge?
Louis returned moments later, causing us to drop the subject. He could tell we had just been discussing something and asked multiple times what it was about, but we played it off like it wasn't a big deal.
I had an hour for my lunch break, so I decided to take a trip down to Oregon Stadium to see if the Jaguars were here or if Leigh-Anne was just bluffing. If I was lucky, I could probably talk to a manager of some sorts.
Leigh-Anne was right; I saw two Seattle Jaguars busses parked behind the stadium. I wondered if there was a possibility of me getting inside without letting anyone know I was a wannabe reporter just looking for a good story. I desperately wanted a glimpse of the team and see if I could catch any sight of Harry.
The gates were locked, and it was impossible to find a way inside. My heels definitely wouldn't allow me to climb it, and I really didn't want to get arrested today for breaking and entering.
I walked around to the gate on the opposite side, quickly running out of options. I did, however, see a group of people exiting a bus, and one of them looked like Harry.
