Vivian's POV
As the weeks went by, I slowly began to feel less and less tense after the incident with Tanner. There were countless nights where I'd wake from a nightmare and accidentally wake Harry as well, which I was feeling terrible for with the Series being just a few days away.
Once the Series was over, whether or not the Jaguars won, they would be transferred back to Seattle, which meant I would be going with them. After talking to Chelsea and Harry's coach, I decided to take the job as the Jaguars' spokeswoman. Chelsea was really excited for me, saying she was proud of me and could always see the potential in me, even with all the editorial work she had me do, she knew I wouldn't let anything discourage me and I could accomplish anything I set my mind to.
Her kind words gave me a boost of confidence, but it was hard saying goodbye to Louis and Leigh-Anne. I wanted nothing more than to have them come with me, but of course, they had to stay here. I promised to visit as much as I could, and they promised the same.
On my last day, it was the day just before the Series. I packed up all my things at the end of the day, giving my desk one last look-over before looking up at Leigh-Anne.
"It feels like you've just got here." She said. "And now you're already onto bigger and better things."
"Don't start," I said, feeling my eyes begin to tear up. "I don't want to cry."
"But seriously, Viv," Louis chimes in. "You came here wanting to be a journalist and now you're jumping from editor to the representative of the Jaguars in a matter of months. This is amazing."
"I just hate leaving you both." I said.
"It's not like you'll never see us again," Louis said with a dramatic eye-roll. "And besides, this job is way better than editing."
"I know," I said. "And I'll be sure to visit, I promise."
After hugging them both and taking all my stuff back to Harry's, even his home felt so empty. Possessions were already being packed up that didn't already belong to the house. I asked how his living situation worked since the Jaguars were only staying in Portland for a certain period of time, and it was something he had arranged prior to their move, and it was a long story that I kind of tuned out halfway.
I went upstairs to change and head over to the stadium to see Harry practice. I was a little nervous seeing Alex, since I hadn't gone to a practice in months due to the tension between him and Harry. News had broken about everything that happened, clearing Alex's name and revealing to everyone how horrible Tanner really was. It seemed unreal, that my ex-boyfriend had gone to such extreme lengths simply because he was jealous of Harry and he was upset with me.
When I reached the stadium, the team was in a huddle near the dugout, and I could see Coach giving them a pep-talk. I sat down a few seats from the dugout just as they broke and went to their positions to start drills.
Harry seemed calm and collected, as well as Alex. It took a while for me to feel comfortable with Harry touching me; I was so on edge after the incident that I constantly felt tense and anxious, and I would jump whenever Harry would brush my arm or even reach for my hand. I apologized consistently, but he understood my worry, and continuously reassured me that he would never let something like that ever happen to me again.
After their drills, the team took a break before running a few more plays. Harry noticed I was there and walked over with a smile.
"Hi, babe," he said as he turned his baseball cap backwards. "When'd you get here?"
"I've been here a while. How much longer are you guys practicing?"
He shrugged and pursed his lips a little. "Eh, I don't know, I don't think that much longer. I think Coach wants to run a couple more plays and then give us one last pep-talk before we go. You want to stay?"
