I shot up in bed, my forehead covered in sweat and my heart rate speeding. I looked around and it took a few seconds for me to register where I was. I glanced at the clock and it was nearly two in the morning. I didn't work at all today, so I was very thankful, it it did mean I was going to spend the day finding a new place to live on such short notice.

I had a nightmare, and I hadn't experienced one of those in ages, but it was always because I couldn't sleep alone. Throughout my entire life, I constantly had a stuffed animal to clutch while I slept, until I met Tanner. Once we started living together, the nightmares stopped. But now, I had to get used to being alone again.

I felt the tears swelling once more, but this time I couldn't stop them. I let them fall, one by one, hitting the expensive bed sheets and darkening the fabric. Tanner was right; he had reason to distrust me. I let Harry take over and I lost the most important person in my life because of it.

I hadn't realized how loud I was crying until Harry's bedroom door opened, and I quickly slowed my sobs so they weren't so obnoxious.

"I'm so sorry," I said as he tiredly walked into my room. "I didn't mean to wake you, I just had a bad dream and I haven't slept alone in so long and I —,"

"Viv, shh," he stopped me, and sat down on the bed next to me. "Slow down and tell me what's wrong."

I wiped the tears off my cheeks and took a deep breath. "I just have these nightmares that happen sometimes. They happen most of the time when I sleep alone, so when I was with Tanner I never had them. . ."

He was silent for a moment before he licked his lips and whispered, "So, come sleep with me then."

I swallowed hard and blinked a few times.

"Come to my room," he continued, and grabbed my lightly trembling hand. "I don't want you to feel scared and alone."

"Are you sure?" I whispered. "I don't want —,"

"Shh," he said, and pulled me up and out from under the sheets. He held my hand loosely as he led me to his bedroom, turning on the lamp so we could see.

The light illuminated his cream walls, reflecting off the golden frames of each painting hung on display. The bed had four posts, a sheer canopy draped and wrapped around the wood to give a very fairytale-like appearance. His room was incredibly regal, and I envied every aspect of it.

He walked around to the side that he hadn't been occupying and pulled the sheets back. I gave him one last look and he assured me again with a small nod before urging me under the covers. I climbed in and he followed suit, tucking his warm body beneath the sheets.

I laid there, feeling extremely out of place, and Harry turned off the lamp and the room was enveloped in darkness. I tried to shut my eyes, but I was afraid to have another nightmare.

Harry took a deep breath and rolled over, and I felt his arm drape itself over my stomach, nestling his body close to mine and suddenly, that terrified feeling began to diminish. I let my body relax, letting my eyes flutter shut.

"Goodnight, princess." Harry whispered.

I fluttered my eyes open when I felt sudden movement next to me. The sun was shining from behind the curtains, and left a dull glow across the bed sheets. I took in my surroundings, realizing how tangled mine and Harry's bodies were. I felt his legs mixed with mine, his arm still draped over my stomach as if he hadn't moved all night, and his other beneath his head. I was laying facing away from him slightly, but I could see his eyes were shut and his breathing was slow and relaxed.
