"Come on, Viv," Louis pressured me. "It's tradition."
"Yeah," Leigh-Anne added. "We always go to Tyson's at the beginning of every year. You've been to a bar before, haven't you?"
"Of course I've been to a bar," I scoffed, and then shrugged. "They're just not my favorite."
"Okay, but you haven't been to a bar with me before." Louis said proudly. "I am the best to party with."
"He likes to think so." Leigh-Anne said with an eye roll. "But come on, it'll be fun, bring your boyfriend."
"I don't know. . ." I said. Tanner was more of a bar person than I was, so he'd enjoy it more, but I still wasn't a big fan of being surrounded by heavily intoxicated men who sat at the bar drinking beers upon beers while watching their favorite sports teams lose.
"Think about it, at least." She said. "Don't feel like you have to because everyone else is."
"But if everyone is going then shouldn't I?" I asked.
"Did they not teach you about peer pressure in school?" Louis joked. "Seriously, Viv, if you don't feel comfortable going, then you don't have to. We won't make you."
"I'll think about it." I shrugged. "I'd like to get to know the office a little better."
"Plus, Chelsea buys us all shots." Leigh-Anne added. "Free shots, just so you're aware. But no pressure, of course."
I rolled my eyes with a smile as they continued throughout the morning to not-so-subtly persuade me into going to Tyson's. I did text Tanner and ask if he was open to going, and he was all for it.
"Okay," I said out of the blue, and both of my coworkers looked up at me. "I'll go."
"Sick." Louis said, fist-pumping the air. "You can be my wing-woman."
"What the héll?" Leigh-Anne gasped. "I've been your wing-woman every year since we started working together!"
"Yeah, and look where that's got me?" He said with raised brows. I snickered and immediately went back to work, trying to catch up on everything I'd been procrastinating while talking to Leigh-Anne and Louis.
The party at Tyson's wasn't until Friday, so I had a full week ahead. I had a meeting with the marketing team today, my interview with Harry tomorrow, and then party with the office the day after.
I was very jittery about my interview with Harry. What would his house look like? Or did he live in an apartment? Surely he was rich enough to afford a mansion. Did he have pets? Maybe not, since he travels and isn't home much. Was he clean? Messy? I tapped my pen on my notebook the more in depth I thought about him.
Towards the end of the day, I got a text from Tanner asking if I wanted to go to dinner tonight to make up for the one I missed. I agreed, and honestly, I was very happy to have some romantic time with Tanner. We didn't go out very often due to our schedules, and I wasn't very adventurous in the bedroom, but we loved each other and he was respectful of my choices and we were able to appreciate each other in other non-intimate ways.
"Ooh, is it you-know-who?" Leigh-Anne asked me as I smiled down at my phone. I looked up at her in confusion.
"Who, Harry? No, it's my boyfriend." I said, shaking my head. She sat back in her seat and stared me down.
"I always forget you have a boyfriend. Harry seems to be on your mind a lot more than him."
I blushed and looked up at her. "Really?" I asked hesitantly.
"I don't blame you, Viv," Louis piped up. "Have you seen him? He's gorgeous. How could you not think about him?"
I sighed and set my phone down after replying to Tanner. "I feel bad, I hate having someone else on my mind, that's unfair to Tanner, isn't it?"
