I walk towards the other end of the mall to go find Julia and Megan. What would they think of me liking Kayden?

They would call me crazy and give me a lecture of how you can't like someone after only meeting with them one time.

Yeah, I think I will just keep it a secret. They might be my best friends, but they don't need to know everything... right?

I search and search, but cannot find them anywhere.

So I decide to leave, what was the point in staying? They would just ask me a billion questions.

As I exit into the large parking lot, I get ready to call my mom.

I slowly dial her number, walking against the bitter cold wind. Right when I am about to hit call, my phone dies.

Crap. This cannot being happening. How do I get home now???

I take a deep breath and start to walk home. Might take a while, but I have no other choice. Luckily I am not too far. And maybe I will find somewhere to charge my phone...?

Not knowing what I am doing, I tighten my jacket, stuff my hands in my pocket, and start to walk.

I keep moving, and finally after fifteen minutes I see a neighbor hood. The wind blows my hair in my face, so it is kind of hard to see.

"Whatever." I mutter to myself as I enter the neighbor hood.

I can barely see the houses, but I keep going, hoping to see someone. My mom is probably so worried. How do I even get home from here?

All of a sudden, I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn my head behind me, and I see someone I never wanted to see again.

Mark.

Right when I see him I turn and get ready to run away, but he is gripping onto the back of my jacket.

"Let go Mark!" I shout.

"No, we need to talk." He says calmly.

I take a deep breath. "No" I say, and turn, ready to go on my way.

He grabs my arm, and holds it tighter. He squeezes harder and harder.

"Stop!" I plead, wanting the pain to go away.

He smirks and starts to pull me. Where was he taking me??? I begin to cry, I can't help it. I just can't take it.

And then, I hear someone shout "Let her go!"and I turn my head.

Standing there, is Kayden.

Mark looks at him, smirking.

Kayden walks over and shoves Mark, causing him to lose his grip on me. Kayden takes my hand and pulls me the opposite direction.

"You think you're so tough, think again!" shouts Mark and punches Kayden, making him fall to the ground.

"You jerk!" I scream, and with that, laughing, Mark walks away.

"Kayden." I whisper in his ear. He stands up, gripping his stomach. "Lets go to my house." He says, and I take his arm and we both slowly walk over to his house.

Luckily he lived in this neighbor hood. We enter, and we sit down on his couch. I run into the kitchen looking for bandaids, Mark had caused Kayden to hit the ground so hard, he was bleeding.

I finally find the bandaids and medicine, and patch him up.

"Thank you Kayden." I whisper. "For helping me."

Kayden looks at me, "He is such a jerk, who was he?"

"My ex." I tell him.

"You deserved someone so much better, not him." And with that I tell him the story of how he cheated on me.

He looked disgusted, "That idiot."

I laugh. Kayden smiles and takes my hand. I then nestle up against him, and with that, we simply lay together for a while.
