Chapter 21: Shirts

I lay in my bed and tossed and turned. I just couldn't sleep. My mind was over run. I'd just had the best night of my life and yet I felt terrified.

Something had shifted in the world. My powers work on frequencies, I can tune them in and out. Depending on someone's personality and emotions and how well I know them, I can read their future. Ever since Jace and Luke returned, it's been more powerful, I've been able to yield my powers. Control them. But they've increased, I can do things I've never done before.

As Jace kissed me many memories of my own passed through to Jace. That's how he finally came to realize what happened, to realize his true self.

The wind howled outside in the darkness of the night. A storm was coming. The way the atmosphere around me whispered, as if people were talking to me. I closed my eyes and wished that Jace had stayed. I was alone in the house, and all I wanted was to feel his arms around me. I jumped as something hit my window. It was a sharp sound that shot right through my body making me shiver. I opened my eyes and saw a shadow moving in the large oak tree that grows in the garden outside my window. The dark shadow looked right into my window, I could feel its eyes watching me. The shadow outline moved into the trees more, blending into the dark night. I felt frozen, like my whole had just iced over. My body was paralyzed in fear and I didn't know why. A strange tingling sensation surged through my head making me feel dizzy. I was searching for the frequency, I knew so well. And I found it. Jace was sneaking out his bedroom window and running to his car. The only thought on his mind was getting to me on time, he could sense I was scared. The shadow was still there, so I moved further into the darkness of my own room, summoning my strength to turn myself invisible. I stayed like this, with my heavy gaze never leaving the shadow until Jace burst into the room.

His dark brown hair was sticking up in many different directions. His pale face showed fear as he looked at me to check I was OK. His T-shirt was on back to front as he had put it on in a hurry. I stood up and ran over to him, feeling his arms wrap around me. He kissed my forehead gently making me feel protected.

"Are you OK? How close did it come?" Jace asked concerned.

I pulled back to look him in the eyes. "Did you see it too, the shadow?"

Jace nodded "Yeah, there was one outside my bedroom window."

I turned to the window where the shadow had been, however it wasn't there. "It's gone!" I stated pointing towards where it had been.

Jace kissed my cheek. "That's because it knows it cant hurt you if we are together. I'll never let anything hurt you. I've finally found you and I'm not going to let you go."

That made my heart race so much. How could he be so bloody cute and sexy at the same time.

"Jace Monroe, words like that should not be allowed to leave your mouth. You'll break girls hearts." I said smiling.

Jace placed his hands on my waist an pulled me closer to me, his lips brushing just over the top of mine, driving me crazy. "As long as its not yours that breaks I really don't care. Everything I'll ever need is right here in my arms."

"Jace." I said watching as his eyes closed shut.

"Mmmmm."

"Your, um, t-shirt is back to front." I stated.

Jace's hands left my waist and he placed them on my hands that rested on his shoulders. Slowly he lead my hands down his torso to the hem of his shirt. Swiftly he pulled it off and opened his eyes to see my jaw drop. The famous Monroe smirk was on his face as I looked at his perfectly toned body. God this boy works out. Jace moved his head down and lightly kissed my neck. Before I could stop myself a moan escaped my mouth. I felt Jace smile against my neck as my face turned a lovely shade of red.

"I'm sorry what was that Princess?" Jace smirked, his eyes gazing at me as if he was trying to read my soul.

"Um. nothing," I said biting my lip.

Jace smirked and pulled me close to him "Oh but you do know what it was. Don't you princess."

And that is how we ended up on my bed. Now before your minds take it too far. Jace had picked me up and thrown me down on the bed, to excessively tickle me. Jace being the champion of tickle fighting had us both in fits of giggles. My sides hurt so much from laughing. Eventually we had fallen asleep in each others arms.

When I finally awoke in the morning, I thought back to the amazing time I'd had last night. I'd performed in front of a crowd of people, kissed the boy I've had a crush on since I was a little girl, technically the boy I've loved for many millennia. Sure there had been that terrifying moment when the shadow had appeared, but I barely remembered that after Jace had arrived. Wait Jace.

Quickly I shot up in bed and looked around the room. The bed next to me still smelt of him and was still quite warm so I swung my legs over the side of the bed to find him. On my bedroom floor, was Jace's shirt . Which naturally means, my very hot and sexy boyfriend is wandering around my house, without a shirt on. Sounds great to me. I pulled on my hoodie and tip toed down stairs.

Jace was stood in the kitchen, with a stack of waffles on a plate. The boy knows the key to my heart. When he saw me he flashed me the most breath taking smile. He looked like a god just stood there, the morning light , illuminating gentle golden sunbeams hitting his bare skin. I felt like I was dreaming. "Morning Princess" Jace greeted placing a hand on my cheek.

I stood on my tip toes and placed my lips hungrily against his. He seemed to feel the same hunger as he kissed me back, his arms wrapping around me. My back pressed against the kitchen counter as my fingers ran through his hair. The kiss got deeper and deeper, both of us resisting the urge to separate to breath. We were so intertwined with one another that we didn't notice the front door open.

"MORNI..."Luke screamed as he bounded into the kitchen.

Jace and I sprang apart but kept our arms around each other.

"LUKE!!! I SWEAR TO ZEUS YOU NEED TO STOP DOING THIS!!!" Jace exclaimed.

Caleigh's eyebrows raised. "To Zeus, you mean you remember too!" She asked.

Jace nodded "Yeah I do why?"

Luke pointed to himself "I remember too!"

I gasped "That means that we." I trailed off unable to finish my sentence.

Caleigh nodded "We can break the curse!"

Luke took his girlfriends hand and looked at her with so much love. "We can finally go home."
