Rohan's 'Family'...this chapter is partly all about them and some about Nalini's family too. I hope you all like it and it gives you all some insight into both Nalini's and Rohan's lives! This is while Nalini and Rohan are in Ooty.

Also, I found this quote, and I think it sort of, not all the time, defines some of South Indian culture, and maybe be referenced in this chapter!

Rohan's 'Family'...

Abel Thomas, Rohan's so called 'father' and his 'mother', Mariam Thomas. They have two sons, called Micheal and Jayram also known as Rohan's so called 'brothers'.

"Come here di, is Rohan okay?"

Mr Thomas calls his wife angrily and frustrated. She rushes to his side both annoyed and upset, replying, "When I texted him he completely ignored me. As usual. Can't you call him?"

They both sadly look at each other and Rohan's father sighs. "No di, you know he absolutely detests speaking with me. He doesn't consider you or me as his parents. Rohan wants Joseph and Celine back."

"Ah, yes. Wait, aren't we meant to visit their graves at the end of this month?"

Abel hisses sadly, "Yes ma. I have to once again bring flower garlands to my brother, Joseph, and my sister-in law, Celine."

(Celine Thomas- Rohan's true mother. Joseph Thomas- Rohan's true father.)

"We have to tell Rohan-" Micheal interrupts and in an annoyed tone says, "He won't forget umma. He never does. Rohan always gets there first anyway."

Mariam and Abel both nod agreeing with their son Micheal, in all truth he was right.

Jayram speaks out in a quiet voice, "Uppa?"

"Hm what is it son?"

"Rohan knows Uncle and Auntie won't come back right? Why doesn't he just move on? We've told him so many times! Yet he still treats us like trash after all we've don't for him!"

Micheal shouts, "Yeah! He's being absolutely ungrateful!"

Rohan's 'father' gets up and yells, with his fists clenched, "STOP. HOW DARE YOU?"

Both Micheal and Jayram flinch by their father's pained and angered voice.

"Sons, how could you say that? You don't have any right to say that you know?"

"Why umma? We are just saying the truth!"

Mariam tries calming her husband down, but he shouts at his two sons heavily making them frown and feel guilty.

"How would you feel if me and your mother died in front of you, huh?! Look at how ignorant you two are, idiots!"

"Calm down Abel. Stop, they've learned. Calm down. I know, I know. It's still painful."

Mariam rubs Abels arm and calms him down with a soothing voice as she glares at her two guilt struck sons.

"Sorry ma, sorry pa."

The room fills with a deathly silence and everyone's faces drop into one of sadness and pain. Rohan's mother tells Micheal and Jayram to go to their rooms while they talk privately.
