A few days later...Nalini's P.O.V
I sort through the paperwork sadly and let out a deep breath. It all just had to mess up didn't it?
We haven't been talking, we sometimes have moments where our eyes meet then we quickly look away or walk away. The only time I'm closest to him is when sleeping and when I'm serving/preparing food.
Rohan's facial expression for the past few days has been quite sad and he almost looks regretful but I highly doubt it. I sigh. Obviously my facial expression has been terribly sad and not bothered.
I really, really, don't want this marriage to turn sour like my parents. I want to make myself and my mother happy. I want to give her hope that marriage is a good thing and not always bad. But now I'm scared..she may find out anytime soon.
I don't want to disappoint Rohan's Uncle and Auntie either, they really do cherish him after losing his parents. I can't really blame him for acting like this, I sort of would too, however there's a limit to how a person can act no matter how ever much you've gone through. And Rohan's crossed the limit.
As his wife, I can't really just walk away or even go up to yell at him. No. I have to be patient, I have to be mature and make sure that either me or Rohan doesn't make anything worse.
I get up checking the new appointment schedule I've finally got given, okay, so I have a little girl who's fractured her wrist to check on, followed by a man with a broken ankle, I have to get an x-ray of that.
Whew, about 4 patients in the afternoon shift today. By the way, Rohan had his morning shift today and I have to do afternoon shift every week today. So he's currently at home while I have a few more hours until 5 o'clock until I get home. Ugh...work..
I finally get a little girl called Radha who's fractured her wrist, I find out that she was playing in the park nearby and when sliding off the slide she landed hardly on her wrist. I look at her in sympathy and give her a smile.
The father of the girl explains that she already has had two other check ups and that they've been preferred to me. I look at the small, 8 year old girl who looks nervous.
"Is it okay, if I have a look at your wrist like all the other doctors?"
She nods not saying anything, she must be shy. I carefully look at her hand as I take off the bandage and she hiss in slight pain.
Hmm, okay seems just a tad bit swollen at the actual joint and she still can't move it. Also it's a bit dirty and needs to be cleaned.
"I'll be giving you some exercises for you to do with your wrist after the bandage has been put on, make sure you and your father or whoever do them every single day okay?"
"Okay, doctor."
I smile at the girl and clean up the wrist putting on a new, clean bandage as well as printing off a sheet of comfortable exercises to get her wrist moving.
"It will hurt at first, okay sweetie? But if you want to go back to playing with your friends then you have to do this."
She nods looking at me with a little smile and I pinch her chubby cheeks lightly making her giggle, I also explain to the father to bring her back at anytime if there's any problem.
