Mamrie's Pov
Hannah and I just sit there crying.
"Hannah, this is all my fault, I'm so sorry." I sob.
"No! It's not your fault at all. If it's anyone's fault, it's mine!" She says.
I look at her with a confused look.
"You couldn't have known she was like this, Mames. She's been depressed for awhile now." She admits.
"Really? She's seems so happy though." I say.
"Mames, I think you're forgetting, she's an actress, hun. She's good at faking it and she's been faking it for a long time." Hannah says.
"W-why didn't she tell me?" I ask.
I'm kinda offended. Did she not trust me?
"Well, she didn't really tell me, I noticed scars on her legs and asked her about it. She made up dumb excuses but I could see through her." She says.
"Oh my god. Poor Gracie." I say.
"Yeah, it didn't help that I left her on the ground of her apartment and basically told her that I didn't love her last night." Hannah starts to cry harder.
"Oh honey, you were just mad. You didn't mean any of that." I say trying to comfort her.
"Yeah well, she obviously didn't know that." Hannah says.
We're interrupted by a doctor coming our way.
We immediately stand up.
"Are you two here for Grace Helbig?" The doctor asks.
She said that in a sad voice.
No.
"Yeah! What's going on, is she ok?" Hannah asks frantically.
"Well, she lost a lot of blood as you know so that made her very weak and taking the pills on top of that, didn't help at all..." The doctor says.
Tears start to form in my eyes.
Grace cannot die.
No.
"But....since Hannah, here, got there just as she blacked out, she is alive. Now, she's not awake yet but should be awake very soon. She may have some short term memory loss but she will regain her memory soon enough. She has stitches on her arm. Remember, when she wakes up, comfort her, don't raise your voice or lecture her yet, she's extremely vulnerable." The doctor says.
Hannah and I are jumping up and down from joy.
"Thank you so much ma'am!" Hannah says.
"You're very welcome Ms Hart, now go in there and see your girlfriend!" The doctor laughs.
Hannah's Pov
I walk in to see a very pale yet beautiful Grace on the hospital bed.
I walk over to her and smile.
God, I love her.
Tears start flowing because of how happy I am that she's alive.
I'm also sad though because this never would have happened if I didn't dump her.
Mamrie must have been reading my mind because she walks over behind me and rubs my back.
She leans over and whispers "Hannah, dear? You saved her life."
She kisses my cheek and walks out of the room.
I sit there for the next hour just holding Grace's hand and listening to her pulse.
"I won't dare leave you babygirl, never again." I whisper.
I kiss her forehead.
I look at her and her eyes twitch open.
"Gracie? Honey?" I say loudly.
Mamrie runs in and smiles brightly.
"Hannah? Mames?" She asks confused.
"Yes babygirl, we're here." I says starting to cry again.
"Wha-what am I doing here? What happened?" She asks frantically, sitting up.
"Hey hey. Take it easy. Just relax, everything's ok now." I say trying to soothe her.
It works as she starts to relax.
Then, she looks at her wrist.
She notices a whole bunch of horizontal stitches up her arm.
"I didn't...did I?" She asks.
She's ashamed.
She doesn't wanna believe it.
I nod.
"No. No! Why would I do that? I was so happy! I was dating you and I was the happiest girl in the world! Why?" She cries.
Shit. She doesn't remember.
"Gracie, it's ok just relax. The doctor said you might not remember things but it'll come back to you soon." I says calmly.
"Ok.." She sighs.
Mamrie becomes hysterical.
She burst out with tears.
"Grace, I'm so sorry honey! I didn't know! I'm sorry. Please forgive me!" She begs.
"I uh I'm sorry Mamrie I'm not sure exactly why you're apologizing." Grace says quietly.
Mamrie's getting Grace overwhelmed.
"Mames, come here." I say taking her hand.
I lead her out of the room and talk to her.
"Mames, she has no idea what you're talking about. Just calm down, just like the doctor said, be cool." I say.
"I'm sorry Hannah, it's just I hate that my best friend felt that she couldn't turn to anyone for help so she wanted to take her own life." She cries.
"I know, I know. We can talk about this later ok?" I ask.
She nods.
We go back into the room and talk with Grace for a couple of hours.
