Chapter 38

"What?! So you're now getting married to a man that you don't love because you're in love with someone else?", Kate said it out loud that the whole room could hear what we were talking.

"Can you keep your voice down? Everyone could hear what we're talking about", I said

"Oh sorry", she giggled.

"But I still do love Rick okay"

Of course. I do...right? I mean he treats me nice and he cares for me. I mean like we're going to get married soon and it's next week! Next week..huh..in just 13 days.

But what about Cameron?

"But don't tell me you love Cameron?",she raised her eyebrow and folded her arms across her chest,"Because he did break your heart, didn't he? And you still care for him?"

Yeah. Cameron.Well, he literally did "broke my heart" during my high school days. I remember that day when I decided to shut him out of my life, I swore that I'll never want to see his face again. But eventually, I did see him again and that was when I was in the coffee shop. Even though you said or even swore you never wanted to see them again. Believe me, you will.

But thinking about Cameron, do I still love him? Can it be after so long for 8 years and now I still love him?

What am I thinking? I'm such a fool.

After a having lunch with Katie, I decided to go stop by at my mom's place.

"I'm so glad you came", mom said, " Here have some",while handing me a biscuit.

"Thanks mom", I said," Um, mom?"

"Yes dear?", while munching the biscuits.

"How did you and dad stay together for a long time?"

"Well, I know when I first met your dad he was this charming perfect guy but sooner later I soon realize he was not perfect as he seems to be. He smoke, drinks but eventually we still got married. But as time pass he finally gave up on smoking and drinking . We also had our tough years and he made a lot of mistakes. But that's love dear. Love is where you sacrifice yourself for someone else. Love is more than just saying the word "I love you"."

"But why still you decided to stay when dad made a lot of mistakes?"

"Well, it's also because of you and it's us it made me to stay. But this is life. If I did decide to follow my emotions without thinking properly then probaly I would done everything the same too. We may have our hearts broken but doesn't mean we should do it the same to them. Everyone makes mistakes so do we."

I sighed as I hear my mom said that. "Is something wrong between you and Rick?", she asked.

"No,no!Everything's fine-", I said.

"Or is this about Cameron?", she narrowed her eyes.

"Mom, you know I'm done with him".

"I know, I know that"
