This Is How I Write

This is How I Write --------*poem*

Sometimes it hits me

in the most inconvenient, random moments-

an idea,

a thought

of what to say,

and it almost burns

my fingertips and I have to get it out

right then,

right there

before it's gone,

before it burns out,

so I stop

and I drop

everything,

and I reach for my pen

and I grab some paper

and as soon as these two meet,

words flow out

painting the paper with an indescribable

beauty

swirling with hues of black and blue ink

coming alive in ways I could never think

possible,

and then it's out,

I'm done,

I sigh in relief,

and that is how I write my poetry.
