The first face [Y/N] saw when she awoke was not the infuriatingly attractive snigger she had grown to familiarise herself with, but a compassionate and worrisome face.
[Y/N] felt her whole body cramping up in pain as she grimaced and hauled herself in an upwards position, earning a gentle reprehensible scolding from the blue gem she had become so affiliated with.
"B-blue?" [Y/N] muttered, rubbing her forehead with a numb hand, her whole body fell dismal and out of place.
"Yes?" The voice said as it wavered frantically, in an apparent hurried search.
"What- what happened?" Wearily rubbing her eyes, [Y/N] attempted to focus on the blurring dot of blue.
"You well, um," the gem sounded as if she was about to bend the truth, [Y/N] shot her what she presumed was to be a scathing glower.
"Please don't lie."
A genial heave, and Blue seated herself laggardly and deliberately across from [Y/N] with a caved-in expression.
"I really shouldn't tell you this-" the blue gem anxiously raked a hand through her hair, a habit [Y/N] had watched her gradually develop,
"- but after the trial I found Yellow Zircon sobbing and holding your crumpled body," The gem began, her head scouring the surroundings for a potential spy.
"She kept whispering about how she was sorry, and that you didn't deserve this, and naturally I went over and saw you unconscious in her arms." Blue clasped her hands together as she languidly reached to stroke strand of [h/c] hair from [Y/N]'s eye with a lazy half-smile.
"She didn't bother to check your pulse, and well, thought you were dead." The anti-climatic story had a anti-climatic ending as she shrugged it off sheepishly, her hand tracing lines and dots in the crevices of [Y/N]'s face soothingly.
[Y/N] nodded belatedly, as she sent a warm smile up to Blue. Blue Zircon was really quite attractive in certain circumstances, her eyes were so oceanic and calming, her voice was therapeutic and [Y/N] adored the way her floppy hair fell to one side.
It was endearing.
Blue nervously looked at [Y/N] and, starting back at Blue with an unreadable expression [Y/N].
"Hey, thank you." [Y/N] moved instinctively, not stopping to consider the consequences of rash actions, as her hand touched Blue's surprisingly warm one.
Blues cheeks went a soft shade of pastel turquoise as she looked away and placed a second hand on [Y/N]'s with a similar blindingly white smile to her counterpart.
"Y-you're welcome-" Fixing her eye-piece out of paranoia,Blue looked away.
"Look at me." [Y/N] found her hands clenching to fists around Blues.
She knew why she was nervous.
She knew why Blue was petrified to make any sort of move towards [Y/N] and it wasn't fair."[Y-Y/N] is this r-re-really appropriate, I mean what would Yellow Zircon think?" Scoffing at [Y/N], [Y/N] could see how the pretence of rejection hurt Blue.
"Fuck her. Who cares." [Y/N] couldn't help the words streaming out of her mouth, she needed the adoration and gentle touch of Blue, she needed to feel wanted she needed security and her wounds inflicted to be scarred and healed by Blue.
She needed this.
And the evasive Yellow Zircon, was not going to get in her way."Blue?"
"[Y/N]."
