You sat in your favorite coffee shop, sipping on some coffee and working on your laptop. You were a regular here at this coffee shop and always came here to do work. Getting away from your noisy family, you found peace at this place. After your father passed away, you were supporting your family as much as you could. So you worked twenty four seven, so you had no time to date anyone.
You were once engaged and was about to marry someone, but you were left at the alter. Sad, right? Everyone was pitting you and some were actually whispering nasty things. He ran away with another woman and you felt betrayed. And that's why you haven't dated a guy in years.
Putting your laptop away, you continued to enjoy your drink, that is until you spotted a man in fancy clothing walk in. He looked like he just came from a wedding, but he looks depressed. You couldn't tell if he was the groom, the groomsmen or just someone attending. He surely can be the groom, but where was his wife? Unless he was ditched.
No! Snap out of it (Y/N), that only happened to me, stop forcing your own sadness on others. He probably just was sad to see his friend or someone get married before him.
He sat down in a table near you and you studied his features closely. He had orange hair and bright orange eyes, he looked breath taking. You hid your blush and decided to walk over to him. You sat down across from him and he suddenly looked up.
"Do you need something?" You smiled at him. "I'm sorry, I can just happened to see how lonely you looked, so I just came over here. Did you come from a wedding?"
His face instantly fell and he had a cold demeanour. "That's really none of your business, so can you please just leave? You wouldn't understand, you would just feel pity for me.
Something inside you clicked."Pity? I wouldn't understand? Look here man, I'm probably the only one who has gone through humiliation and pity at my own wedding! Do you know how it felt to be left at the alter? So don't go around saying I wouldn't understand!" Wait a sec, did I really just tell a stranger I got left at the alter?!?
"Wait a second, you got left at the alter too?" He sparked up and grabbed your hand. "Uh.....yes. Wait, did the same thing happen to you?" You say and he nods. "Yeah, that's why I came here. I always come here when I need to think. It's just everyone.... Even my friends couldn't do anything about it. "
You nod." I understand. It's so humiliating and embarrassing. That girl made a huge mistake." You say and he looks at you confused. "Why's that?" You smile at him. "She missed out on a chance to be happy with an amazing guy, good looking too." He blushed, but then coughed.
"Same here. That guy must have been stupid to leave such a beautiful lady behind." You blushed and giggled. "Thank you."
"Is this called fate?" He asked.
"Why?"
"Two people who were left at the alter, sitting here comforting each other. I think that's something." He holds your hand and you hold it back tighter. "I didn't get your name." He asked.
"(Full Name). You?"
"Kyouji Akatsuki. Nice to meet you, (F/N)-chan."
"You too, Kyou-chan!"
"Kyou-chan?" He laughed and you giggled. "My very own nickname for you."
You both laughed and continued to learn more about each other. This really was fate.
