Hachiya So x Reader - Regret

You hated the fact that your boyfriend was so easily distracted by everything. When you first met him in middle school, he was very clumsy, shy, and, guarded. You were the complete opposite. Confident, loud, and, very friendly. People always wondered why a girl like you were dating a guy like Hachiya So.

You didn't care what others thought of you and Hachiya. You loved him, and that's all that mattered, but that wasn't the case for your boyfriend. Once the two of you started high school; he became closer to a boy named Ageha Riku. Since he decided to attend a prestigious music academy, you went to a normal high school.

You only stopped by Ayanagi during the weekends to have lunch with him. You met his friends and they were all nice and jealous that he had a girlfriend. One you both entered second year of high school,you saw less of each other. You were busy with club activities and him with festival preparation. You sent him messages back and forth, but he seemed very distant.

One day, you snuck into campus and looked for Hachiya. You wanted to surprise him. Normally whenever you came for a visit, you texted him of your arrival. After an hour, you couldn't find him. Making your way to his dorm room, you knock gently. The door opens but it's not Hachiya; it was Ageha.

"Oh Ageha-kun, where's Sou-chan?"

He shrugs his shoulders. "I've been calling him for a while, he hasn't responded."

"He's been very distant lately, so you know anything?" You asked and he let you inside. You sat down on the couch and and Ageha served you tea.

"He's been acting weird recently, but I have no idea why."

"So you've noticed it too huh?" The two of you continue to talk for a bit until Hachiya walked into the room.

"Huh? (F/n)? What are you doing here?" He asked and you both stood up.

"Oh So-chan! I wanted to surprise you, so I came over." You smiled and he looked irked.

"Ageha, can you give us some space?" Ageha nods and leaves the room. Hachiya walks up to you.

"(F/N)....I think we need to break up." He says and you scrunch your face in confusion.

"What?"

"I've been too busy to focus on this relationship and you've been distracting me."

"You can't be serious...." You say, grabbing onto the sleeve of his shirt.

"I'm serious. We've also haven't been the ideal couple. We are far different from each other."

"But that's why we started dating! Cause we're different from others!"

"And we've been clashing, (f/n)- I've made up my mind."

"I can't believe you. You love me don't you? I love you and I can't let you go." Tears were spilling out your eyes and he turned from your gaze.

"I regret confessing my feelings to you; it was a mistake."

You couldn't believe what you were hearing. He never acted like this, so why was he acting like that? You ran out the room, Ageha standing out there confused.

"What's going on So?" He walked back in and saw his eyes filled with tears. He didn't deserve you. He thinks he isn't strong enough for you. He wanted to end things before it got ugly.

"I love you too (f/n), find happiness elsewhere...."

=Five Years Later=

He stared down at your grave. He felt sick to his stomach. You had died in a car accident after high school ended and he had gotten the news just a couple days ago. He didn't want to believe it. After all these years, you were dead and he had no idea.

"Excuse me? You're Hachiya So, am I right?" He turned to see a male that looked exactly like you.

"I'm (f/n)'s older brother. She had given this letter to me the year before she passed. She said if anything was to happen to her, I would give this to you."

"Oh, I don't believe I met you while we were dating."

"An ex-boyfriend huh? She never said that. Anyways, this is the last thing she left." He handed him a letter and Hachiya stared at it. It has his named engraved with a pen and cute stickers everywhere.

'Dear So-chan, if  you received this letter, that means I'm dead or something happened to me. I have no idea if that will ever happen, but I wanted to write this for you. A letter for the future you that realized  the pain and regret I felt when I let you go. I never regretted the times we spent together. I did not care what others thought of us, I love you for you. I hope to marry you and have children with you and see you successful as a musical actor. Remember So-chan, I'll always be your number 1 fan. Yours truly, (f/n)'

He felt his knees go weak and collapsed onto the ground. Reading the letter over and over again, the sobs that escaped his mouth was unbearable to listen to. Your brother looks up at the sky and also sheds some tears. He looks down and saw Hachiya completely broken. He let you go and lost you for good. You weren't coming back, but for your sake he was going going to live on.

'Love feels like sorrow, sounds like sadness, tastes like regret.'

Hey guys! I should be updating two more chapters before o go on vacation. I've been watching season three to get more inspiration and I will probably do the new Kao Kai after I'm done with the five ancient members. Once again those will be here after I'm done with vacation so I will be pre writing a bunch of stuff out! Seeya soon!
