Tengenji Kakeru x Reader - Lost Kitty

A/N- I know I wasn't supposed to start this till like later, but on my way back home from NYC, I was listening to Starmyu songs and I suddenly had an idea for Tengenji. I do not own anyone or anything in Starmyu, not even you. Enjoy!

It was a peaceful afternoon—warm sunlight filtered through the leaves, a light breeze rustled the trees, and the soft murmur of nature surrounded you. You sat quietly on a bench in the park, completely absorbed in your favorite book. The world around you faded away as you turned each page, comforted by the stillness of the moment.

That is, until a soft meow broke your concentration.

You looked up, slightly startled, and saw a small black cat sitting a few feet away. It tilted its head and stared at you with big, curious eyes. Around its neck was a thin red string, tied like a makeshift collar.

"Aww, look at you," you said softly as you closed your book and approached the cat.

You crouched down and gently reached out a hand. The cat sniffed your fingers, then leaned into your touch, purring loudly. Its fur was soft and well-groomed, definitely someone's pet.

"Are you lost, little one?" you murmured, lifting the cat into your arms. You noticed something written on a tag attached to the red string. "Tavian, huh? That's kind of a silly name," you giggled, "but cute. Suits you."

With a determined smile, you stood up. "Alright, Tavian. Let's go find your owner."

And just like that, your quiet afternoon transformed into a spontaneous adventure with your newfound feline companion.

Meanwhile, not far from the park, a tall red-haired boy was frantically searching the streets, worry etched across his face.

"Where could she have gone?!" Tengenji Kakeru ran his hands through his hair, anxiety making his voice shake. Tavian, his beloved cat, had slipped out of his arms that morning and hadn't returned since. Friends and neighbors had joined the search, but hours passed with no sign of her.

His heart sank with every step he took.

By evening, you still hadn't found Tavian's owner. Reluctantly, you brought her home. Your mom raised an eyebrow the moment you walked in, but after a bit of persuading—and Tavian's charm—she agreed to let her stay for the night.

Your sisters were thrilled. They played with her until bedtime, and you let Tavian curl up beside you while you slept. She seemed comfortable, almost like she belonged there.

The next morning, you left her at home and ran out to pick up some groceries. You were just walking down the street when you spotted a boy taping a flyer onto a lamppost. He looked vaguely familiar—until you saw the picture.

"Tavian?!" you exclaimed before you could stop yourself.

The boy spun around. His eyes met yours—warm brown with a flicker of hope—and he looked stunned. "Wait... how do you know her name?"

"I... I found her yesterday," you explained. "She had a red string with her name on it, so I took her home for the night. Is she yours?"

"Yes! Oh my god, yes!" His whole face lit up, and before you knew it, he threw his arms around you in a tight hug. "Thank you! Thank you so much!"

"Uh... c-could you... let go?" you stammered, face burning. He quickly stepped back, blushing.

"Sorry, I just—I've been looking everywhere for her. I'm Tengenji Kakeru, by the way."

"I'm (Full Name)," you replied, still a little flustered. "Come on, I'll take you to her."

You led Tengenji back to your house, excitement in every step. "Mom! I found Tavian's owner!" you called as you opened the door.

Your mom peeked out from the kitchen, eyes landing on the boy behind you. "Oh my, what a handsome young man! I bet you were worried sick. But don't worry—(Name) took great care of her," she added with a wink.

"Mooom!" you groaned, face heating up again.

Tavian came bounding down the stairs and leapt straight into Tengenji's arms. He caught her easily, hugging her close and burying his face in her fur.

"I missed you, girl," he whispered, eyes glassy with relief. Then he turned to you, offering a deep bow. "Thank you, really. It means so much to me."

"It's no problem," you said, smiling. "Would you... maybe want to grab lunch sometime? You know, as friends?"

Tengenji beamed. "I'd like that." He handed you his number.

"Tomorrow, 2 PM, at the café down the street," you said.

He winked. "It's a date, then."

You blinked. "D-DATE?!"

He chuckled softly and leaned in, pressing a quick kiss to your cheek before stepping back with a playful grin.

"You're pretty cute, you know that?"

Mortified, you slammed the door in his face. Behind you, your mom was cackling.

"You're bright red, sweetheart."

"Shut up, Mom!"
