"Can you... give that back?" I ask him while pointing down to what he was holding.
He look down and shook his head in disapproval.
"No, you don't need this any more. You look better without it." He said as he toss my eye-glass to the nearest bin that we just pass and this shock me. "Look, I'm telling the truth okay? You look better without it."
Looking into his eyes, I search for a sign if he was lying or not but didn't find any of it.
So he was telling the truth?
Jess' s POV (Dun dun dun dun)
I had been worrying that the beast, a.k.a Y/n, did something to Shalnark to make him suddenly interested towards her. It's either she's really a witch, or it's another stupid dare of the Spider troupe.
Lily and and Carla were walking beside me and soon we spotted Phinks, who just finish talking with Machi and he was now walking by his own. The two of them went in the opposite direction and luckily, Phinks was heading towards us. As soon as he saw us, he grin then wave.
"Hey pretty lady." He tried flirting but it didn't affect me.
On the other hand, Lily and Carla fell for it.
"Hey there Phinks." Lily greeted back.
"Looking good as always." Carla wink and I rolled my eyes.
"Alright, I'll get to the point. What does that ugly Y/n have towards my baby?! Surely she has something that make my baby suddenly interested towards her right? Cause I know my baby won't go for an ugly, beast witch girl!" I questioned in anger.
"Baby? Who's your baby?" He ask and I gasp.
Is he mocking me?!
"I'm talking about Shalnark! He's my only baby and I'm his only baby around the school." I cross my arms and this seems to remind him who my baby was.
"Oh, so it's our little boss? Well she doesn't have anything towards Shal but we dared Shal to make her fall in love with him then break up with her when she finally fall in love with Shalnark." He replied and I smirk evilly.
I knew it was the stupid dare! Pfft, that poor ugly witch! She deserves what's coming towards her. Haha! You go get her my cutie baby Shalnark!
Reader's POV
When we made it to our Math class, I immediately went at the back of the class, hiding my face because I've been getting stares. I put out The Hunger Games book and startes reading while covering my face so no one can see it.
"Why are you hiding your beautiful face?" Shalnark whispered as he sat beside me.
"Because some stupid Playboy threw my eye-glass away and now everyone's looking at my.... face." I answered in a whipering tone as well.
I saw a pain in his eyes but it disappear as soon as it appeared.
"Like what I told you, you look better without it and don't mind about the people staring at you, they're just jealous because I'm with the most beautiful girl here at school." He held my hand and I look down at it.
I heard someone enter and when I look up to see who it was, it was those bullies. Jess gave me an evil smile, like she was telling me that I'm useless.
Finally, the teacher came. The class was long and boring and all I did was read my book.
"What'cha reading?" Shalnark ask in a whisper tone.
"Isn't it obvious?" I answered him while tapping my pointy finger at the cover of the book.
"Hunger Games, I see. That's... such a nice book."
"Mr. Shalnark Prince, I see that you've been paying attention to the class. Do you know the solution for this question?" Mr. Satotz pointed at the problem that he had written on the board.
I glance at the board and answered the question in my head. 542
When I glance at Shalnark, I couldt tell that he was struggling.
"540 sir!" He answered but it was wrong.
"Wrong, Y/n, do you know?" I was the next person that Satotz ask since he knew that I always answer every question he would give me.
But not this time.
I look at the embarrass face of Shalnark and his hand tight into a ball fist. I sigh and put down my book so I can make eye to eye contact with Satotz.
Shalnark's POV
Damn it! I got embarass in front of Y/n! Normally I would care if it's the whole class, which it is but all I could think of is Y/n. Now what would she think of me?
"I'm sorry sir but... I wasn't listening and I don't know the answer sir." What Y/n had said shock me.
Did she just...
"Oh? Are you sure about that?" Satotz tried confirming it.
"Yes sir." And Y/n verified.
She did just got the answer wrong deliberately. But why?
"Is that so? Then I expect the both of you to study hard for the upcoming Math competition. Maybe study at each other's house. If I don't see any improvements in the last few days, then our school won't be competing anymore."
"Understood." And with that, Y/n raise her book again and started reading.
Did she do that on purpose? But why would she do it?
