Chapter 45

"Y/n wait!" Shalnark called out for you but you ignore him and continued running away.

When Shalnark try to run after you, Chrollo went in way to stop him. Chrollo stared at Shalnark for a while, waiting for him to explain what happened.

"Danchou, let me explain-" Shalnark was cut off by Chrollo.

"One minute." Chrollo said and Shalnark nodded.

-----Time skip to next day-----

You woke up with the alarm and you groan in annoyance. You turn the alarm off then stared at the ceiling. Your mind wander off at the event last night but you just scoff to yourself.

"How could I've been so stupid? Of course Shalnark have been dared to make me fall in love with him. It's always been a game all this time. He will never change." You said to yourself.

You felt your eyes getting teary but you blink them away.

'There's no point crying for a useless person.' You thought to yourself but memories of you being with Shalnark flash in your mind.

"Shalnark, why do you have to do this to me?" You hug your pillow then cried.

You then heard a knock on your door so you quickly wipe your tears away and fix yourself.

"Who is it?" You tried not to sound like as if you just cried.

"It's me..." You were shock to hear your father's voice at the other side of the door.

It was strange for you since your father never come to your bedroom before.

"C-come in." You called out and your father entered your room.

You stared at him and he stare at you. He then sigh then sat at the edge of your bed.

"Look, I know I haven't been a good father to you and I want to apologise for that. I heard about what happened with you and Shalnark and I know at this time, you need someone to lean on. That's why I'm here." He told you and you sigh and got out of your bed.

"I don't need anyone right now." You said with a hint of anger in your voice since you haven't forgiven your father for being not a good father.

Suddenly, you felt a tug on your wrist and the feeling of getting pulled. The next thing you know was your father was embracing you.

"I'm really sorry Y/n, please give me a second chance on making things right. I promise I will become a good father from now on." Your father stroke your hair and you felt something dropping from your face.

When you realise it was your father's tears, you immediately started crying on his chest. You miss the warmth of his embrace and you smile to yourself that your old father finally returned.

"I'm really sorry..." Your father said over and over again and you nod.

"I forgive you." You cried and after about five minutes, the tears dried away and you pull away from your father.

You were about to say something but was interrupted when your father's phone ring. He pick it up and all you could hear was "Yep" "What" "Be right there"

After he ended the call, he look seriously in your eyes.

"Pakunoda called saying that Chrollo is in the school hospital right now and he wants to see you as soon as possible." Your father said and you immediately felt as if something happened to your brother.

"Right, I'll be out in five minutes." You said and was about to get change when your father spoke up.

"I'm coming." He said and you look at him.

"You are?"

"Of course, Chrollo is also my son so if he's in danger right now, I'll be there. I told you that I'm going to try to be a good father right? That's what I'm doing now." He explain and you nod.

"Right..."

After you were finish changing clothes, you ran downstairs to see your father waiting for you. 

"Let's go." He said and you thought that you saw him smile slightly but you just ignore it since your main focus was your brother.

Your father was driving towards your school and he decided to start a conversation.

"So, how much do you love this guy Shalnark?" He ask and it caught you off-guard.

"How did you even know about him?" You questioned.

"I got my sources. Now answer my question." There was a moment of silent until you finally decided to answer his question.

"I love him a lot. I don't know why though but I just do. Whenever I'm around him, I feel happy and everytime I'm at school, he's always the first person whom I want to see and be with. I got hurt when I found out that... all of the things we did was a dare but I guess that's how life goes. You get hurt, you recover then you learn how to fix your mistakes." You replied as you became sad again at the thought of Shalnark.

"I see..." Your father trailed off. "Would... you give him another chance if he told you that he really love you as well?"

You were getting confuse at why your father was asking you all the sudden question since he never talk to you before but decided to answer him anyway.

"I wish he does love me. I want him, I love him. If there's a way to make him fall in love with me for real then I will do anything to get it but... true love has to come from the heart right? You must love the person because you love him or her not by the dares or just because you want to play with their feelings."
